Meeting called to order at 9:06 a.m.

New Business: The Eligibility list was presented on as voted January 10, 2006. Chairman
Johnson signed as presented. This list will be posted and effective as of January 17,
2006. Letters will be sent to both the candidates who did not pass the oral interview and
the candidates who now have 10 days from the receipt of the letter stating they passed to
claim preference points. Per the state statutes,these points may be claimed for an
Associates degree in Law Enforcement/Criminal Justice or a Bachelors Degree, currently
a police office already awarded the certificate for basic standard law enforcement or
military service active duty or honorably discharged. The maximum points allowed will be
5 for any one or any combination of the aforementioned.
Letters were drafted to send to the candidates for both passing and failing to meet the
criteria. 'T'hese will go out on Wednesday, January 18, 2006 due to the Martin Luther
King holiday.
Note was made that some of the regulations may want to be revisited before the next
hiring process.
There was some discussion as to the hiring a part time secretary for the commission and
would the budget support it.
The next meeting is scheduled for Monday,January 30, 2006 at 6:00 p.m.
Commissioner Putzler moved to adjourn. Commissioner Johnson seconded. Meeting
adjourned at 9:35 p.m.
