Street Naming - We received a letter from Joe Wywrot about naming private roads,. Mrs. Hughes and her daughter were at the meeting to ask about naming an easement road on the south side of town behind the Shell station, for Tom Hughes, who recently died. The question was if they wanted it to be a Historical Name, they would have to follow the rules for submitting names, while since it is a private road, HRC doesn't believe this is a matter of concern for us. Greg stated the HRC process is for approving historical names, and we have not been previously approached about private roads.. Diana believes the question should go back to the City as we are nor sure of our, jurisdiction. She will call Rose about the direction for naming private roads. Back to Hometown Days - Madonna has camera equipment to tape the presentations of the Historical Street names for family members/friends who made the nominations. We need to find out when this will be done—at Hometown Days?? She also has a video of the July 4°i celebration including the parade and the fireworks that will be shown on Charnel 17 on Conrcast. Page 2 HRC — February, 2006 Volunteer Nomination Procedures—Tom made up a form. HRC would decide the winner. The HRC approved the format of the form and will pass it along to the Mayor and City Council stating that the form was approved by HRC. HRC asks that it be approved by City Council and added to the Website in a PDF format so people could download it to fill out for submission.. Greg suggested also e-mailing the form to Mayor Prochaska. Old Business: Visitor Center—no brochures for review Historical Street Names—none submitted for review Historical Street Name Brochure—this was completed previously ADDITIONAL BUSINESS .Jeff brought up a concern —his parents walk a lot and they have been attacked by dogs several times. He asks what is the procedure regarding dogs off of leashes, Greg stated there is a leash law and said that people who are attacked should call the police each time. There is usually a warning for a first offense, then a ticket, and increasing amounts of fines. Cecelia contacted DuPage County for information on their volunteer procedures and was directed to their Website, www.dupageco.org . She printed off several pages of information which Madonna will direct to Glory to see if we can duplicate this for our City Website in some way, Madonna also talked to Glory about getting some volunteers for seniors. Diana made a motion to adjourn Lorene seconded. Meeting adjourned at 7:50 p.m. Minutes submitted by Cecelia Sanders
