Meeting Minutes of September 20, 2006
Location: Police Department Conference Room
Called to Order:
Diana called the meeting to order at 6:05pm. Quorum established
members present were: Ex-officio Members

Minutes were reviewed. Madonna motioned to approve, Diana seconded. APPROVED.
Committee Reports:
City Liaison Report: None
Mayor's Report: At the 9/11 Patriots Walk, Mayor Prochaska challenged community to bring up ideas
for a monument honoring the emergency service workers, like the ones who were called to action on
9/11. The monument will be placed in the Town Square park. HRC will oversee the collection of ideas
and proceed to analyze them. HRC will accept responsibility for project and September 11`h of next
year will be suitable for a press release for ideas concerning monument. HRC will also maybe admit a
float that represents Yorkville's 50`h anniversary and Historic Street Naming Program next years July
4th parade.
Citv Council Report: Council approved the final draft of the Yorkville Outstanding Volunteer Award
on September 5'h, 2006.
Recreation Department Report: None
Library Board Report: None
School Report: None
New Business:
Hometown Days Recap. - Cecelia collected all names from the prize drawing. Both prize winners
received their prizes.
Senior Police Academy—A seminar lead by the Senior Police Academy will be held at the Historic
Courthouse from 9:00am to 3:00pm on October 30`h 2006. Five different rooms will have topics that
will inform seniors about various issues including information on health care and recent scams and
gypsies.
Madonna and Barry Gretsch are trying to register appropriate information from all seniors into a
database for emergency service purposes.
Old Business:
Brochures—A square-shape Dreyer Medical clinic brochure will be too large to fit a slot in the
brochure rack.

A quad-fold Dreyer Medical Clinic brochure was approved to be distributed by the HRC.
Historic Street Name nominations: None were submitted
Historic Street Name Brochure: This was approved previously
Additional Business:
Madonna brought up the issue on whether or not restaurants should allow political candidates to
canvass inside. Everyone agreed that it should not be allowed.
Madonna added that a bus had stopped with kids on board so the driver could purchase items at a
garage sale. Everyone ruled the act irresponsible and dangerous.
Diana moved to adjourn, Diana seconded. Meeting adjourned at 7pm.
