Meeting Minutes of December 13, 2006
Location: Police Department Conference Room
Call to Order:
Diana called the meeting to order at 6:08pm. Quorum established.

November's minutes were reviewed. Diana motioned to approve, Jeff seconded. APPROVED.
Committee Reports:
City Liaison Report: Planning meetings have commenced for the upcoming Polar Plunge, which is on
the date of March 3' at Silver Springs. More information will available soon.
Mayor's Report: The Mayor was at the South Bridge Cafe looking at vacant space (formerly
Bridgeberry Twigs) to be rented out. The city was looking to maybe rent that space to use as a
downtown visitor center. The South Bridge cafe is open to cooperating with the Yorkville for a
proposed visitor center there. Discussion is open as to the plans of the project.
City Council Report: None, Bock is absent.
Recreation Department Report: None
Library Board Report: None
School Board: None
New Business:
50" A� nniversary—Glory and the Mayor are putting together a sub-committee for planning the
festivities associated with Yorkville's 50`' Anniversary. In the works could be a float for the 4°i of July
Parade, ice cream social in April or May, and possibly decorating the bridge. An announcement will be
made of the upcoming Sub-committee meeting at the next COW meeting. Glory will be the pointlady
for the sub-committee and has a co-chair lined up. The HRC is invited to be on the committee as well.
The first meeting of the sub-committee will be on .January 81h 2007, 7pm, at City Hall. The Optimist
Club could run an ice cream social at Riverfront Park. Decoration of the bridge also to symbolize the
joining of Yorkville and Bristol in 1957. A press release will be out the following Thursday, December
21 st, to inform the public of the sub-committee.

Old Business:
Volunteer Opportunities Brochure—Glory stated that she redid the letter and Cecelia stated that she
redid the form that is to be sent out to all possible participants. Jeff stated that the district elementary
schools are in need of lunchhecess help and tutors. The Helping Hands thrift shop is to be added to the
mailing list.

Cecelia motioned to adjourn, Madonna seconded, Meeting adjourned at 7:07pm, Next meeting is on
Wednesday, January 17`h 2007. Happy New Year.
