At this time Kay Hatcher with Ameritech gave a brief history of Ameritech in Yorkville. She
stated that Ameritech has been in Yorkville since 1898. She stated that Ameritech has
come upon a plan to have a small partnership project with the City on behalf of the events
that will be coming up this year. In honor of Ameritech's 100 years in Yorkville, and in
honor of the people who have volunteered so much to the community from Ameritech, they
would like to enter into a partnership to build the first pavilion that is planned for the
Riverfront Park. It will be the one on the point and a number of Ameritech volunteers will
be a part of this.
