Resolution 2004-48 STATE OF ILLINOIS ) ss COUNTY OF KENDALL ) RESOLUTION 2004 - �g RESOLUTION AUTHORZING DEPUTY CITY CLERK TO ACCEPT ELECTION NOMINATING PETITIONS AND RELATED DOCUMENTS WHEREAS, Illinois Complied Statutes permit the Office of Deputy Clerk to perform all functions and duties of a City Clerk in the absence and stead of the City Clerk; and WHEREAS, one of the specific duties of the City Clerk pursuant to Illinois Compiled Statutes and the Illinois Election Code is to accept nominating petitions and related filing documents in order to become a candidate for City-wide office; and WHEREAS, in order to insure maximum coverage for candidates wishing to file election petitions and related documents with the Office of City Clerk, and the Office of City Clerk not always being occupied as a full time elected or staff position at the City level; and WHEREAS, it is the intent of the United City of Yorkville to provide the maximum access for candidates seeking election to be able to file their petitions for nomination as well as any related documents required under the Illinois Election Code or Illinois Municipal Code with both the Clerk and Deputy Clerk; NOW, THEREFORE, on Motion duly made, and seconded, and approved by a majority of those council members so voting that any holder of the office of Deputy Clerk in the United City of Yorkville shall be authorized to accept election nominating petitions and all other election document required to be filed with the Office of City Clerk pursuant to the Illinois Election Code and the Illinois Municipal Code.
