THE KENDALL COUNTY BOARD ROOM ON Thursday, January 23, 1997
Mayor Johnson called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. and led the
Council in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Mayor Johnson welcomed those present and asked them to introduce
themselves.
AMENDMENTS TO THE AGENDA
None
MEETING DATES
The council reviewed the listing of committee meetings. Meetings
will be held as stated.
CITIZEN COMMENTS
Mayor Johnson asked for any citizen comments. There were none.
PUBLIC HEARINGS -- NONE
PLAN COMMISSION / ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS
No Report
MINUTES APPROVAL
Clerk Allison indicated that one correction was required in the
minutes. On page three, under Additional Business should be
changed from "Mayor Johnson stated there was no action taken while
in executive session. " to "Mayor Johnson stated there will be no
action taken as a result of executive session."
A motion was made by Alderman Spang and seconded by Alderman Jones
to approve the minutes of January 9, 1997 as corrected. Motion
carried.
BILLS APPROVAL
A motion was made by Alderman Prochaska and seconded by Alderman
Sowinski to approve the bills dated January 23, 1997 with vendor
bills of $80,666. 24, payroll of $60,525. 12 for a total of
$141,191. 36. Clerk Allison called the role:

Motion carried.
ATTORNEY'S REPORT
Attorney Kramer indicated that he has no report other than to
inform the council that the next Economic Development Committee
meeting will be a very busy meeting.
MAYOR'S R PORT
Mayor Johnson reported that the Comprehensive Plan Public Hearing
will be held on Thursday January 30, 1997 at 7:00 p.m. in the
Kendall County Board Room.

Mayor Johnson also informed the council that he has received an
updated report from TCD regarding the City's recycling program.
The City of Yorkville has done very well with a 36% diversion rate.
The goal for the State is to obtain a 25% diversion rate.
Also, Mayor Johnson congratulated Chief Graff on his recent
graduation from Lewis University with his Bachelor's Degree.
CITY CLERK'S REPORT

CITY TREASURER'S REPORT
Treasurer Scheffrahn reported that the ending November Month end
balance was $690,530.77 after revenues of $248,943 . 37 and
expenditures of $358,830. 37. A motion was made by Alderman
Prochaska and seconded by Alderman Lynch to accept the November
1996 Treasurer's report as presented. Motion carried.
CITY ADMINISTRATOR REPORT
Administrator Nanninga informed the council that the city has
scheduled a Builders / Developers Meeting for January 29, 1997 at
the new F.E. Wheaton Building. This meeting will be used to inform
everyone of the new fee schedules and BOCA changes.
Administrator Nanninga also wanted to thank the Public Works Crew
for an excellent job of keeping the city's roads clear during the
recent snow storms. Alderman Spang indicated that he had also
received a comment from the postal workers that they were very
happy with how the city's roads were cleared during the snow
storms.
Economic Development Commission Report
Mayor Johnson reported that the next meeting will be held on
February 11, 1997 at 7:00 p.m.
School Community Report
Alderman Jones stated that the next regular school board meeting
will be held on January 27, 1997 at 7: 30 p.m. at the district
offices.

A motion was made by Alderman Callmer and seconded by Alderman
Baker to adjourn the meeting at 7:11 p.m. Motion carried.
