Attorney Kr- amer reported that negotiations are Rt . -.7 Annexations still in progress regarding the remaining Rt . 47 Annexations . The Go- fare Agreement should be ready by the next City Council meeting . On Monday , October 26 , 1987 there will be a meet- Annexation Meeting with K&K , the bowling alley and Shick ' s regarding their annexations . Jail Meeting attended an informational meeting, regarding the Kendall County Jail matter . CITY CLERK - Clerk Erickson announced that the ZBA Meeting Zoning Board of Appeals meeting scheduled for Continued October 19 , 1987 had no ouorum and was continued ZBA87- 3 to October 2% , 1987 at 7 : :IU p .m . at City Hall to hear the Petition for Variance for Aurora Cord ,S; Cable . REASCRER ' S REPORT - Treasurer Huston reported Treasurer Report that he has the computer up to July of 1987 , and hopes to have it current soon . P!IBLIC RELATIONS - Alderman Pfister oresented a Plaque Presentation plaque to Dave Stillmunkes , who could not be Stillmunkes present , regarding his winning ,: 100 at the recent Chicago Bears football game ' s field goal kicking ontest . The money was donated to the Yorkville Athletic Department . PUBLIC WORKS - Director Johnson reported that Van Emmon Repair the repair work on Van Emmon St . almost finished . Good weather is needed to complete the project . Junk Pick-up will be Monday , October 26 , 1987 Junk Pick-up by Tri -County Scavenger Service . POLICE - CHief Diederich reported that Burlington RR Track Repair Northern will slow down the trains across Rt . 47 to 10 mph during the construction . Chief Diederich reported that the Chicago Area Boy Scout Camp Council is nutting five million dollars into the Project-Phase I Boy Scout Camp , the first project to be a barrier fee building for the handicapped . PLAN COMMISSION - Alderman Radke moved to PC87-48 - Tanner mend approval of PC87-48 , Unit 2 of Tom Tanner ' s Approval Timber Ridge Subdivision , to the Kendall County KC Board Board , seconded by Alderman Hayden . Clerk called the roll as follows : Fahrlander - Ave Small - Aye Pfister - Aye ThAneDohn - Ave Jahp - Ave Radke - Aye Hayden - Ave Sown - Ave Motion carried . Alderman Radke commended the Plan Commission on their handling of the petitions that have come heorc them , along with the heavy load presented to them recently . •RECREATION DEPARTMENT - Alderman Bown reported Roc . Dept . Tumbling that the Recreation Department has a new tumbling Instructor instructor , Tonette McCoy . AIH,erman Bown reported that the karate people feel Karate]Rec . Dept . they would like to have a 12x12 mat to use on the Mat floor at the Beechr Building , with the Park Commission to use , with karate to pay a portion of the cost . City Council approved Stormy Gray to do research on the matter and bring it back before the council . HUMAN RESOURCE COMMISSION - Alderman Small announced the next meeting is November 16 , 1987 at 7 : 00 P . M . at City Hall . Page 3 October 22 , 1987 KENDALL. COUNTY EMERGENCY SERVICES S DISASTER CO- Emergency Response ORDINATOR - Chief Dtederich attended a meeting of Meeting the Emergency Response Teams , the EMS , Kendall County Sheriff ' s Dept . , and himself , and they are planning a drill to go through their exercises . PARK COMMISSION - Alderman Sown reported that Park Comm . Vouchers voucher procedures are under discussion . Alderman flown reported discussion was held Proposed Park Board regarding a new park board or present commission member would take a position that would create conflict of interest . Alderman Sown reported that the programs are looking good . There are plans to proceed with promotional awards for volunteers for continued incentive . TENNIS COURTS - Alderman Jahn reported that Tennis Courts - Director Johnson has sent a letter to Jeff Storm Intergovernmental regarding seLti_ ng up a joint agreement on the Agreement tennis courts . BEECHER BUILDING ADVISORY COMMITTEE - Alderman Hayden reported on the October 13• , 1987 meeting . A contractor has been found to replace the slab at the northeast door where the problem is located , and to make two brick wind protection walls at a cost of 51100 . It was recommended the slab be replaced , and a represent. ,;ti.ve of the Lions Club has said they will pay for it . Cancellations of short notice was discussed . BB Cancellations Alderman Hayden moved that any cancellations at the Beecher Building with less than 2 weeks notice , will forfeit the 31 deposit return , seconded by Alderman Jahp . It was noted by Director Johnson that present policy is the 335 deposit is payed when the key is picked up either the Friday before a weekend event or the day of the event , and is presently returned if the room reserved is left clean . Extenuating circumstances in rerr<>rds to cancellations should also be addressed . Alderman Jahp withdrew his second . Motion died for lack of a second . The matter will be taken back to committee for ; other study . SCHOOL COMMUNITY - Alderman Jahn reported that New Track a computerized school calendar was handed out at the recent board meeting . The new track is comnl eted . The Sports Boosters are planning a fund raising dance on January 23 , 1988 . They were involved also in dedicating the track on October 16 , 1987 . Music Boosters have been in existance for 30 years . A Yorkville area firm has donated i310 for pur- chasing books for the school ' s libraries . Bus routes were „_ _i s s `d as w e l l as i1 S ll',a li c e premiums . CITIZEN COMMENTS - Alderman Pfister moved to Boy Scout Service authorize Mayor Davidson to sign Peter Turner ' s Project-P . Turner certificate for `-t s Boy Scout service project , seconded by Alderman Jahn . Motion carried . For his project , Peter Turner made a "Welcome to Page 4 October 22 . 1987 Yorkville" sign and installed it at the south entrance to Yorkville . , NEW BUSINESS - Alderman Jahn requested the toot - Request - ball parents be allowed to put a wooden sign on Football Parents the Rt . 47 bridge during the state competition . HEALTH SANITATION - Alcirman Fahrlander r Garbage Rate Increase ported that notice was given by Tri-County Scavenger Service regarding their proposed 7 . increase in rates to become effective January 1 , 1988 . The increase was stated to be due to a rise in dumping costs . The rate would raise the per house cost from :; 5 . O0 to f5 . 35 . Alderman Fahrlander will contact Tri -County Scavenger Service for documentation showing the increased dumping costs . WATER _- Alderman Jahp reported on the October 15 , Radium Removal 1987 meeting . Bonds and grants for radium re- moval were discussed . Alderman _:uhp moved to authorize final payment New Water Tower _ for the new water tower to T&R Construction in Final Payment the amount of 47 , 165 . 76 , pending review of the T&R Construction waivers by City Attorney , seconded by Alderman Pfister .
