Old Business
1. There will be a movie at the Rec Center on Wednesday, "Secretariat" and April at the
Beecher Center will be "The Great Debate"with "Gran Torino" in June.
There was discussion on whether other movies, such as newer releases should be shown. Patty
stated the ones that have been shown were ones selected by the seniors and newer movies are
often difficult to get due to being popular. There is some problem with it being too light in the
room for the more `darker' filmed movies. The seniors seem to prefer funny and light hearted
movies.
2. Older Americans month is May. It is also Nursing Home Month and Hillside will be helping
with some of the projects as well as having their own. The Senior Health Fair on Friday, May
13th at the Rec Center has 8 vendors so far. A Chamber e-blast will be sent out. St. Patrick's is
holding a Fashion Show that month, also.
3. The Walking Club is on-going. Patty mentioned transportation to the Rec Center to walk the
track there.
4. St. Patrick's Youth groins and the Knights of Columbus are sponsoring a Picnic for the
seniors on Friday, June l Ot and they have the menu made up. They requested a sign-up so they
know how many to provide for. There was a question about entertainment and the suggestion
was made to see if there are any youth who would like to perform. There will also be door
prizes.
New Business
April 16th will be Breakfast With The Easter Bunny. The Rec Center is also doing the Easter
Train that day.
Bette remarked that they once did a May Pole Dance when they were at Countryside, but it is
complicated.
Senior Services is holding a Raffle at their Fundraising Annual Dinner and Auction. Tickets are
$50 each and 250 will be sold. The first prize is a trip to an all-inclusive resort in Cancun.
The Governor doesn't have funding for Circuit Breaker and the Pharmaceutical program in his
budget for the year.
In home services will be for Medicaid only. Half of the current participants are not on
Medicaid.
BC/BS has an exception form for medication according to Rita.
Bette reported that Kendall County had 45 Elder Abuse cases last year.

Rita Murphy made a motion to adjourn.
