In Yorkville alone we have a facility on East Van Emmon Street as well as several group homes. One of our biggest fundraisers is our annual Telethon, which is broadcast live on cable to 26 communities from Waubonsee Community College in Sugar Grove. Over 600 volunteers will come together to help us reach our goal of raising $125,000 for client programs. One of our biggest challenges is getting the 200 volunteers to answer phones. I am writing in the hopes that Yorkville Police and Fire Departments would support our event by getting teams together for our March 6"'. Teams can range from 5-20 people. The time commitment is just two hours;we ask that volunteers arrive one hour before their scheduled phone time for registration and then answer phones for one hour. There's always lot of free food! We've been very fortunate in that the Aurora Fire and Police Departments have participated for many years. We would also welcome any other organizations, churches, businesses or individuals to get a team together. We encourgae team members to wear t-shirtsluniforms that identify their affiliation and phone operators are interviewed by our hosts. It's an exciting day and we would be thrilled to have your participation. More information is available on our web page, www.the-association.org Thank you so much for your consideration. I look forward to hearing from you!
