International Codes Adopted by
Jurisdiction (Updated 07-01-2010)
United City of Yorkville Building and Community Development Departments
•427 Jurisdictions* Surveyed in Illinois
•68 or 16% are currently operating under the 2000 ICC
•Currently, only DuPage County, Illinois has adopted
the 2009 IBC, IFC, IMC and IFGC.
* Jurisdictions include: municipalities, fires districts, State departments and universities.

Based on the 2009 International Energy Conservation Code
and is mandatory Statewide.
Some benefits to Residential Construction are…
•Homes built to the 2009 IECC standards will consume
less energy
•Reported that U.S. families living homes built under
2009 IECC standards will save money on energy bills
(Average of $235/year)*
