Meeting July 26, 2010

Present: Cecelia Sanders, Bonnie Schradel, Robert Skidmore, Valerie Burd, Bonnie Olsem,
Amanda Hopkins, Tim Evans, Rita Murphy, Joe Plocker
In the absence of Bette Schoenholtz, Rita Murphy opened the meeting.
Introductions
Approval of Minutes
After review, Robert Skidmore made a motion to approve, Bonnie Olsem seconded. Approved.
Old Business
1. The "Who's Knocking at Your Door"Fashion Show can be held at the Hampton Inn
on October 21St from 9 to 11. Thanks to Mayor Burd for making these arrangements.
2. There have been over 100 surveys returned so far. Bonnie Schradel is tallying them.
3. The lease for the Beecher Center was unable to be presented at the Committee
meeting in July due to a lack of a quorum. It will go on the August agenda.
New Business
1. Tim Evans introduced Amanda Hopkins who will be the person coming to the
Beecher Center next week to register seniors for the Rec Center programs. She will
be there from 9:30— 11:30 on August 6th. Tim will drop off catalogs on Tuesday.
2. Hometown Days—Tim asked if Senior Services would be willing to help with Bingo
this year and possibly take over running the Bingo next year.
3. The Fox Country Players will be using the Beecher Center for a play.
4. Bob Skidmore reported the Knights of Columbus will have a Car Show at the Kendall
County Fair Grounds on August 14th from 8 —4.
5. PADS is in the building phase with 5 churches in the county signed on. They are
looking for 2 more so it can be open 7 nights a week during the colder months. They
are also looking for information from KAT. Bonnie Olsem suggested the churches
become a part of KAT. The Sheriff has offered to do the laundry for PADS and also
provide law support. The Food Pantry will supply the food.
Additional Business
1. Mayor Burd reported the City is looking into a referendum for bike trails as with the
widening of Rt 34, 41, and 71, there may be other monies available. The bike trails would
connect Yorkville, Oswego, Plano, and go through Yorkville and up to the Water Park.
The work on Rt 47 should begin within one and one-half years.
2. The Thanksgiving dinner is set.
3. Bonnie Schradel stated they are working on the Fashion Show fundraiser in September.
Bonnie Olsem made a motion to adjourn, Cecelia Sanders seconded. Meeting adjourned.
