New Business:
PW 2012-58 Water Department Reports for July and August 2012 -
Mr. Dhuse said the city
pumped 2 million gallons of water a day. The drought didn't help, but it will start to go back down by
September and October. Mr. Dhuse said there will be shut offs next week. This item was moved to
consent.
PW 2012-59 Resolution Endorsing Implementation of Lower Fox River Land Conservation
Project Plan –
Mr. Olson said this is like an adoption of a plan to complete a plan. The Conservation
Foundation is asking us to buy into division of the plan and how they are going to complete it, identify
additional properties and how to conserve those properties in the future. They will come back with a
plan in about 12 months and ask us to adopt it. The Conservation Foundation is just asking for our
participation in the program.

Mr. Olson said it will be a nice planning document for future planning. Alderman Kot said he feels they
are a good organization and he has no problem with this. Alderman Teeling agreed. Mr. Olson said they
are asking all municipalities in the county to participate in this. This item was moved to consent.
PW 2012 MFT Resolution for Salt Storage –
Mr. Dhuse said this is a first of six payments that we
owe Kendall County Highway Department for use of space in their building. Mr. Olson said this was
budgeted. Mr. Dhuse said this costs less than building a building. This item was moved to consent.
Old Business:
None.
Additional Business:
Alderman Kot said he had a citizen contact his wife about the condition of our
sidewalks and there are many that need attention in the older parts of town. Alderman Kot thought it
would be a good idea to start documenting where the sidewalks are that need attention. Mr. Dhuse said
that is a project they are going to do this winter by walking and taking Atlas Maps and mark footage on
them and create a database.
Mr. Olson said there is $4,000 budgeted this year for sidewalk replacements. Mr. Dhuse said there is a
sidewalk program where the city works with residents on a 60/40 basis to repair/replace sidewalks. Mr.
Dhuse said by spring we will have a rough square footage with numbers to be able to budget.
Alderman Milschewski said if there is money left that was not used can we use that $4,000 then wait and
add it too funds the next year and the city would get more for our money. Mr. Olson suggested to
budget the amount and open up the program and if it is not used, then chose a street and fix it. Mr.
Dhuse said there needs to be a little left for emergencies.
Mr. Dhuse pointed out that $4,000 doesn't go very far maybe two or three houses. Mr. Dhuse said to
use the 60/40 program there has to be a reason like pitting or cracking. Mr. Dhuse said this winter they
will work on a study.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 6:12 p.m.
