Ordinance No. 2012- L ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A FEE FOR COLLECTION OF DELINQUENT BILLS WHEREAS, pursuant to Ordinance No. 1993-26 passed by the Mayor and City Council of the United City of Yorkville, Kendall County, Illinois on September 9, 1993, authorization was granted to refer any delinquent utility bill to a collection agency for collection and add to the amounts due to the City an additional charge of$25.00; and, WHEREAS, pursuant to Ordinance No. 2009-59, passed by the Mayor and City Council on October 27, 2009, the City also authorized any and all fees and charges for licenses, review of development plans, annexation petitions, review of subdivision plats and numerous other services it provides to residents, businesses and developers which are not paid when due shall be forwarded to a collection agency and the cost of collection added to the amount due; and, WHEREAS, it has been determined that a charge of$25.00 for administering delinquent invoices and the costs of collection of any money owed to the City should be added to any and all outstanding invoices as hereinafter set forth. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and City Council of the United City of Yorkville, Kendall County, Illinois, as follows: Section 1. That all invoices issued by the City for any utility service, petition, review, plan, license, certification, fine or any other fee or charge imposed by the City which is not paid when due and owing shall be deemed to be delinquent, and may be forwarded to a collection agency for payment or to the City Attorney to undertake any legal action permitted by law. Section 2. That the charge of $25.00 and the cost of collection shall be added to all amounts due and shall constitute the total amount to be collected. Ordinance No. 2012-Y7 Page a Section 3. That Ordinance Nos. 2009-59 and 1993-26 are hereby repealed. Section 4. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval as provided by law.
