Ordinance No. 2014- 0(p AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE UNITED CITY OF YORKVILLE,KENDALL COUNTY,ILLINOIS, REMOVING THE TIME LIMITS ON THE DISPLAY OF POLITICAL SIGNS ON RESIDENTIAL PROPERTY BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and City Council of the United City of Yorkville, Kendall County, Illinois, as follows: Section 1. Chapter 8 of the United City of Yorkville Code of Ordinances is hereby amended by amending Section 8-11-5.0 to read as follows: "O. Political signs. A political sign, including announcing candidates for political office or political issues, shall not have a sign face of more than sixteen (16) square feet in area. Political signs, except on residential property, shall not be displayed more than sixty(60) days before any election and shall be removed within five(5) days after said election. Political signs on residential property may be displayed during any period of time." Section 2. If any Section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase or portion of this Ordinance is for any reason held invalid or unconstitutional by any court of competent jurisdiction, such portion shall be deemed a separate, distinct, and independent provision, and such holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions hereof. Section 3. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon its passage, approval, and publication as provided by law.
