Resolution 2002-36 STATE OF ILLINOIS ) ..� )SS COUNTY OF KENDALL ) RESOLUTION 02-� RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A WEATHER WARNING SIREN FEE AND IMPOSING SAID FEE UPON NEW DEVELOPMENT WHEREAS, the City Council and the Mayor have reviewed a request from the Chief of Police for a weather warning siren fee as a result of the cost incurred in the purchase and installation of a weather warning system as the United City of Yorkville expands; and WHEREAS, existing services need to be expanded and new services added to address the growth of the United City of Yorkville; and WHEREAS, one such municipal service to be expanded is the emergency warning siren system; and WHEREAS,the need and cost incurred in the implementation ofthe weather warning system is uniquely attributable to the Territory annexed to the United City of Yorkville; and WHEREAS,the funds to finance the cost of installation construction and the purchase of the weather warning system are based on a cost per acre fee described below; and WHEREAS,the City Council and the Mayor deem it to be in the best interest of the City to implement a weather warning system; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE UNITED CITY OF YORKVILLE,upon motion duly made, seconded, and approved by a majority of those Alderman voting,that all future Territory annexed to the United City of Yorkville shall pay a fee of$75.00 per acre to fund a Weather Warning Siren System,payable on a per acre basis at the earlier of the time of Final Plat approval for the portion of the Territory subject to a particular final plat,or at time of building permit issuance if the Territory is not subdivided, whichever occurs first. A separate Weather Warning u Siren Fund shall be created to budget for this expenditure. Additional community needs shall be identified and funded in a similar manner should the Weather Warning Siren Fund not ever become fully funded.
