A RESOLUTION ANNOUNCING THE INTENT OF KENDALL COUNTY
GOVERNMENT TO WORK COLLECTIVELY IN PURSUIT OF A METRA
FEASIBILITY STUDY
WHEREAS, the population of Kendall County has grown by approximately 30% in the
past eight years and is among the fast growing counties in the State of Illinois; and
WHEREAS, the local governments of Kendall County are constantly considering the best
methods of dealing with the tremendous growth in population and the impact this -owth has on
the region; and
WHEREAS, one of the more important tasks of dealing with growth is studying and
developing improvements to the transportation network within Kendall County; and
WHEREAS, the Kendall County Board and the communities of Sandwich, Plano,
Yorkville, Oswego, Montgomery have undertaken the task of studying the feasibility of
extending Metra commuter rail service to Kendall County.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Kendall County Board and the
communities of Sandwich, Plano, Yorkville, Oswego and Montgomery have agreed to act jointly
in the collective pursuit of the resources necessary to bring in a Phase I Metra feasibility study to
Kendall County.
