RESOLUTION 99--dA, —
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR
AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE UNITED CITY OF YORKVILLE
TO SELL OR DEMOLISH PERSONAL PROPERTY
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it to be in the best interest of the City and its
inhabitants to provide for the orderly liquidation or the removal of certain personal property
being a house situated at 804 Game Farm Rd.,Yorkville, Illinois,which is currently occupied by
the United City of Yorkville Police Department; and
WHEREAS,the City Council and Mayor of the United City of Yorkville deem it to be in
the best interest of the City to find that said personal property attached to the real estate,being
the house located at, 804 Game Farm Rd.,Yorkville, Illinois, shall either be moved if acceptable
bids can be obtained for the sale and removal of said house; or in the alternative that if no bids
are received for the purchase and removal of said home to provide for the razing of said structure
in order to permit the construction of a new City Municipal/Administration Building; and
WHEREAS, 65 ILCS 5/11-76-4 provides that a simple majority of the members of the
corporation authorities then holding office shall approve a Resolution finding that the personal
property is no longer necessary or useful or is in the best interest of the City to retain; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to explore which alternative for removal of the
structure from the site will economically and practically be most beneficial to the UNITED CITY
OF YORKVILLE and to its inhabitants:
NOW THEREFORE upon motion duly made, seconded, and approved by a majority of
those so voting as indicted below,the UNITED CITY OF YORKVILLE, through its City
Council and Mayor takes the following action:
1. That the City Staff is hereby authorized to submit Public Notices to obtain bids
for the sale and removal of the structure at 804 Game Farm Rd., Yorkville,
Illinois.
2. Or in the alternative to obtain bids for the purposes of razing said structure on-
site.
3. That prior to accepting any of said bids, the UNITED CITY OF YORKVILLE
through its City Council shall adopt a Resolution selecting which procedure it
shall use for the disposal of said personal property.
