RESOLUTION NO. 97
IMPROVEMENT OF THE
ILLINOIS ROUTE 47 AND COUNTRYSIDE PARKWAY INTERSECTION
IN YORKVILLE
WHEREAS, THE CITY OF YORKVILLE of Kendall County, Illinois, and THE STATE OF
ILLINOIS, are desirous of improving the intersection of Illinois Route 47 (FAP 326) and
Countryside Parkway. Improvement to the said intersection includes the addition of a turn lane
on Illinois Route 47, modifications to the geometrics of the intersection, and installation of traffic
signals, identified under State Section (108) I&TS. Participation and cost share of the said
project will be as follows:
WHEREAS, THE CITY OF YORKVILLE will:
1. Make the surveys, prepare plans, receive bids, award the contracts, and finish
engineering supervision during construction of the improvements.
2. Provide plans and obtain plan approval from the Illinois Department of
Transportation, District 3 office in Ottowa, Illinois, prior to advertising of the
project.
3. Pay all construction and engineering costs subject to reimbursement by the
STATE OF ILLINOIS as hereinafter stipulated.
WHEREAS, THE STATE OF ILLINOIS will:
1. Reimburse the CITY OF YORKVILLE 50 percent of the construction cost of the
traffic signals, plus an additional 15 percent for preliminary and engineering costs.
THE STATE OF ILLINOIS' maximum amount of funds to THE CITY OF
YORKVILLE is $60,000, is limited to 50 percent of the traffic signal costs. THE
STATE OF ILLINOIS payment to THE CITY OF YORKVILLE shall be based
on final bid unit prices and quantities of the awarded contract.
2. Not participate in any cost of the said improvement outside of pay items
relevant to traffic signal construction.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, in consideration of the above, THE STATE OF
ILLINOIS be notified by the action taken here that THE CITY OF YORKVILLE agrees to terms
stated herein and intends to later enter into a formal joint agreement with THE STATE OF
ILLINOIS to accomplish the above described improvement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that two original signed and certified copies of this Resolution of
intent be returned to the Illinois Department of Transportation, District 3 office.
