RESOULUTION NO: 1996 — 3 3
RESOLUTION IMPOSING
INSTALLATION OF WATER METER PRIOR TO PLUMBING ROUGH-IN INSPECTION
WHEREAS, The mayor and City Council of the United City of Yorkville having considered the
City's expense for water usage associated with construction of private homes and buildings; and
WHEREAS, this expense is increasing with the growing development in and around the City, and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council consider it in the best interest of the community to
charge for all water used.
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it resolved by the CITY COUNCIL AND THE MAYOR OF THE
UNITED CITY OF YORKVILLE, upon motion duly made, seconded and approved, that the
City Policy will now require the following:
1. A meter to be paid for by the contractor at the location of the City Office, and the
pick-up of same at the location of the Department of Public Works.
2. That contractors licensed plumber install the water meter prior to the building
rough-in inspection.
3. Installation by the plumber will include wiring to the outside for a future outside
meter reading devise.
4. Payment for water used will be billed to the contractor, and must be paid in full
prior to issuance of occupancy permit.
This ordinance upon passage will be in effect for all homes and buildings currently under
construction, as well as for future construction.
