Resolution 1995-31 db RESOLUTION NO. 1995 WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council of the United City of the Village of Yorkville have determined after careful consideration to create the position of City Engineer for the best interests of the City; and WHEREAS, the duties and job requirements are attached hereto; and WHEREAS, the salary to be paid will be determined based upon qualifications . NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the United City of the Village of Yorkville establish the position of City Engineer with the qualifications and job duties as described in the attached Exhibit "A" . Respond to Citizen complaints / concerns relating to drainage, Water, sewer, platting and streets Review developer's plans and specifications Attend City committee and council meetings Develop plans and specifications for City projects including layout and staking Manage the Technical personnel Create and Maintain 5 year capital plans and budgets Prepare reports and technical studies as directed by the City Administrator Maintain a current and valid Registration as a Professional Engineer in Illinois Any and all other duties as directed by the City Administrator. REQUIREMENTS: The City Engineer must have his/her registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Illinois or the ability to achieve the same within six months of hire This person should have a minimum of two years of municipal experience and must be familiar with 5 year capital planning The City Engineer must have good people skills, experience with WT projects, roads, water main, sewer main and storm water control. This position is full time and reports directly to the City Administrator.
