Resolution 1994-22 STATE OF ILLINOIS ) ss COUNTY OF KENDALL ) RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING COLLECTION OF NON-SUFFICIENT FUNDS CHECK CHARGE WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council of THE UNITED CITY OF THE VILLAGE OF YORKVILLE, deem it in the best interest of the City to provide for the orderly administration and cost-free administration of City Funds; and WHEREAS, the City has received a number of"non-sufficient funds checks" for payment of City services; and WHEREAS, substantial administrative time is taken by City Staff in collecting on said funds and arranging for redeposit or replacement of said checks; and WHEREAS, is within the police powers of the City to require those additional administrative costs to be imposed upon persons submitting checks which are not honored due to insufficient funds: NOW THEREFORE, the Mayor and City Council of the UNITED CITY OF THE VILLAGE OF YORKVILLE, upon motion duly made, seconded and approved, hereby require that there shall be a twenty-five dollar ($25.00) charge imposed upon any check returned to the UNITED CITY OF THE VILLAGE OF YORKVILLE marked non-payment for the reason of the account being closed, or "Non-Sufficient Funds".
