RESOLUTION NO. 1992- L
RESOLUTION BANNING WATERING OF LAWNS, SHRUBBERY, AND
TREES
On Motion duly made, seconded, and approved by the Mayor and City
Council of the United City of the Village of Yorkville ; it is hereby enacted as
follows
WHEREAS, the United City of the Village of Yorkville has experienced
draught conditions for a period in excess of two years ;
and ;
WHEREAS, the water level of the City Municipal wells has continuously
dropped based upon a depletion in the natural water supply:
and ;
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the Citizens of the United City
of the Village of Yorkville Guarantee an adequate and constant supply of
water for City public safety, health, and human consumption :
NOW THEREFORE the United City of the Village Of Yorkville hereby
authorizes the City Administration/City Engineer:
1 .) To enact a ban against watering of lawns, trees, and shrubs except
on even days of the month for addresses of real property within the city that
have even numbered addresses, and watering may be done on odd days of the
month for property with odd numbered addresses. ��tt
2.) That the hours of watering shall occur only after 4:00 I.m. and
before%D:00 a.m.
3. ) That in the event water levels at the City Wells drop to a level
seemed dangerous by the City Engineer for continued service to the city
residents, a total watering ban may be placed in effect upon 24 hours advance
notice published throughout the local media, and by posting at City Hall.

4.) (A) That a first time conviction for violating, this Ordinance shall
result in a fine of $50.00.
(B) That a second time conviction for violating this Ordinance shall
result in a fine of $75.00.
(C) That a third shall result in a fine of no less than $75.00 and
no greater than $500.00.
5.) That the watering ban may be rescinded by the City Administrator/
City Engineer by notice through the media and posting at City Hall upon the
water at the City Wells returning to a normal level based upon satisfactory
water levels sufficient to ensure an adequate supply of water to 'the residents
of the United City of the Village of Yorkville.
