Ordinance 2001-54 STATE OF ILLINOIS ) )ss COUNTY KENDALL ) ORDINANCE NO. 2001- S`-1 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CITY COUNCIL AND COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING DAYS WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council of THE UNITED CITY OF YORKVILLE, upon recommendation and request of the City Administrator and City Staff, have deemed it in the best interest of the CITY to change the meeting days of the City Council and Committee of the Whole meetings from Thursday nights to Tuesday nights; and WHEREAS, the Mayor, City Council and City Staff believe that by changing the meeting days from Thursday to Tuesday that information will be more readily available for the weekly meetings and that all persons in attendance will have more time to review the information prior to the meetings, thereby being better prepared; and WHEREAS,by having the documentation several days in advance of the meetings and having a weekend to review the materials will enable Council members to better debate and consider the matters before the Council and should result in the more efficient operation of the meetings; and Page 1 of 3 WHEREAS, the City Council has fully considered the best interest of the citizens and the CITY in considering this Ordinance: NOW THEREFORE, the Mayor and City Council of THE UNITED CITY OF YORKVILLE, upon motion duly made, seconded, and approved, do hereby ORDAIN as follows: 1. The regular meetings of the City Council of the United City of Yorkville shall be scheduled on the Second and Fourth Tuesdays of each month at 7:00 p.m. commencing January 1, 2002. 2. The regular meetings of the Committee of the Whole of the United City of Yorkville shall be scheduled on the First and Third Tuesdays of each month at 7:00 p.m. commencing January 1, 2002. 3. That the Mayor and City Council shall review the effectiveness of the meeting day change on an annual basis. 4. All ordinances or parts of ordinances conflicting with any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be and the same are hereby repealed. 5. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause,phrase or portion of this ordinance is for any reason held invalid or unconstitutional by any court of competent jurisdiction, such portion shall be deemed a separate, distinct, and independent provision, and such holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions hereof.
