Ordinance 2000-30 i . � r STATE OF ILLINOIS ) )ss COUNTY OF KENDALL ) ORDINANCE NO. 2000- AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING OVERNIGHT PARKING ON ROUTE 47,WEST MAIN AND CENTER STREET SURROUNDING TOWN SQUARE PARK WHEREAS,the Mayor and City Council of the of THE UNITED CITY OF YORKVILLE, upon recommendation and request of the City Police Department and various members of the community,deem it to be in the best interest of community to restrict parking hours on certain areas of streets near the Town Square Park in the United City of Yorkville; and WHEREAS, said parking prohibition is for the purpose of safety and protection of persons and their property; and WHEREAS, the City Council has fully considered the best interest of the citizens and the City in passing said Parking Ordinance: NOW THEREFORE, the Mayor and City Council of THE UNITED CITY OF YORKVILLE, upon motion duly made, seconded, and approved, hereby ordain: 1. There shall be no parking along the West side of Route 47 (park side) from West Main Street to West Center Street during the hours of 1:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. 2. There shall be no parking on the North side of West Main Street (park side) from Route 47 to a point 80 feet from the corner of the intersection of Route 47 and West Main Street during the hours of 1:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. -1- 3. There shall be no parking on the South side of West Center Street (park side) from Route 47 to a point 80 feet from the corner of the intersection of Route 47 and West Center Street during the hours of 1:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. 4. The City Public Works director is hereby authorized and directed to prepare and place signs at these locations indicating these restrictions. 5. Violation of this Ordinance shall result in a Fifty Dollar($50.00)fine per occurrence. SEVERABILITY: The various parts, sections, and clauses of this Ordinance are hereby declared to be severable. If any part,sentence,paragraph, section,or clause is adjudged unconstitutional or invalid by a Court of competent jurisdiction, the remainder of the Ordinance shall not be affected thereby. REPEALER: Any Ordinances or parts thereof in conflict with the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. EFFECTIVE DATE: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect 15 days from and after its passage and approval by the Mayor and City Council. -2- IN WITNESS WHEREOF, this Ordinance has been enacted this 4�iday of 12000.
