AMENDMENT TO OVERLOT GRADING ORDINANCE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE UNITED CITY OF YORKVILLE,
KENDALL COUNTY, ILLINOIS AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS,the Mayor and City Council of the UNITED CITY OF YORKVILLE deem it
to be in the best interest to require an overlot grading plan for each new subdivision, and each new
construction or addition will be required to submit an overlot grading plan before the final inspection
/Certificate of Occupancy. The grading plan must be in compliance with the overlot grading plans
of the subdivisions and a copy of said overlot grading plat must be submitted with each building
permit request.
NOW THEREFORE,the City Council and Mayor of the UNITED CITY OF YORKVILLE,
upon Motion duly made, seconded and approved hereby require overlot grading plans for all
subdivisions and new construction in the City of Yorkville with the following requirements:
1. Said overlot grading plan must be done and must be performed by a Registered
Engineer or land Surveyor; and,

2. Said overlot grading plan must be drafted in the form of a Plat of Survey with all
gradient lines shown to provide adequate information as to water drainage in the site
area; and,
3. Said plan must show all existing grades and proposed grades on the site, including
finished grade; and
4. Said plan must show the proposed improvement as it relates to the grading of the lot;
and,
5. Said overlot plan must be submitted at time of Final Plat for all subdivisions; and,
6. This Ordinance shall apply to all additions to existing buildings. Exceptions: One
and Two family additions: A grading plan will not be required unless the building
inspector is in the opinion that one is needed. The owner would then be required to
hire a Registered Engineer or Land Surveyor to provide a grading plan.
Except to the extent modified herein, all previous ordinances pertaining to overlot grading
are hereby reaffirmed and ratified and are in full force and effect. This Ordinance shall be effective
upon passage.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, this Ordinance has been passed and enacted this at�day of
