Ordinance 1998-02 r STATE OF ILLINOIS ) Revised ) ss January 16,1998 COUNTY OF KENDALL ) ORDINANCE NO. 1998-�_ AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 3 SECTION 34B-8 OF THE LIQUOR CONTROL ORDINANCE OF THE UNITED CITY OF YORKVILLE WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council of the UNITED CITY OF YORKVILLE have considered a modification and amendment to Title 3 Section 3-4B-8 of the Liquor Control Ordinance providing for the regulation of the sale of alcohol within the City limits of the UNITED CITY OF YORKVILLE by persons under the age of 21; and WHEREAS,Hearings have been held before the Public Safety Committee,due consideration given by the City Council sitting as a Committee of the Whole, and by the City Council and Staff of the City regulating the sale of alcohol within City limits by minors; and WHEREAS, all of said advisory bodies consider it to be for the Public Safety, the protection of minor workers, and to encourage the prohibition of the illegal sale of alcohol to minors within City limits, necessary to provide an amendment to the Liquor Control Ordinance of the CITY OF YORKVILLE: NOW THEREFORE upon Motion duly made,seconded,and approved by a majority of those members voting, the following Amendment is made to the above enacted Ordinance: 1. That a paragraph designated as Section 3-4B is amended to add a sub-paragraph"C" as follows: C. No licensee or his/her representative, agent or employee shall permit any person under the age of twenty-one (21) years to act as his agent, barkeeper, servant, employees, entertainer, or clerk in offering package alcoholic beverages for sale; provided, however, that licensees whose businesses are not predominantly the sale of alcoholic liquor, such as restaurants, clubs,hotels,bowling alleys, grocery stores, lgas stations, food convenient stores, and drugstores, may employ persons under twenty-one (21) years of age, otherwise qualified by law for such employment, in connection with those portions of his/her business not related to the sale of package liquor. That in all other respects the existing CITY OF YORKVILLE Liquor Control Ordinance is ratified, republished and shall remain in effect except as amended herein.
