ORDINANCE VACATING SOUTH MAIN STREET
IN THE UNITED CITY OF THE VILLAGE OF YORKVILLE
BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council of the United City
of the Village of Yorkville, Kendall County, Illinois:
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council of the United City of the Village
of Yorkville, upon the recommendation and request of various members of
the community, and consideration by the City Police Department and the
Department of Public Works, deem it to be in the best interest for public
safety and for the orderly flow of vehicles within the United City of the
Village of Yorkville, at and near the intersection of South Main Street and
State Route 47; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing has been held pursuant to Chapter 24 §11-91-1
of the Illinois Revised Statutes (1987) ; and public input has been considered;
and
WHEREAS, in the interest of public safety, it has been determined
that it is necessary to close the currently existing intersection of South
Main Street and State Route 47; and
WHEREAS, the existing right-of-way for South Main Street should be
vacated: the West one-half (1 /2) to MAX REIMENSCHNEIDER, and the East
one-half (1 /2) to the ILLINOIS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION as
shown in a Plat of Vacation, since each is the adjoining owner of said vacated
portion of South Main Street:
NOW THEREFORE, the Mayor and City Council of the United City of
the Village of Yorkville, upon motion duly made, seconded, and approved,
hereby vacate South Main Street in the United City of the Village of Yorkville

at its intersection with Illinois State Route 47, to the adjoining owners,
subject to an existing easement for City sewer, water, and public utilities,
which is expressly reserved by Grantor, as well as an Easement for ingress
and egress to maintain said utilities.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, this Ordinance has been enacted this �' \
