Ordinance 1984-01 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE WATER WORKS ORDINANCE OF THE UNITED CITY OF THE VILLAGE OF YORKVILLE, DATED OCTOBER 24, 1974 AND PASSED AS ORDINANCE NO. 1974- & BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE UNITED CITY OF THE VILLAGE OF YORKVILLE, ILLINOIS: That Section VI (a) of the Water Works Ordinance of the Village of Yorkville dated October 24, 19741 is hereby amended to provide that the Superintendent of Public Works shall determine the amount of water usage by each individual customer of the United City of the Village of Yorkville pursuant to any of the following three methods to be selected by him in his absolute and sole discretion: a) An actual meter reading done by employees of the Water Department of the United City of the Village of Yorkville, on a quarterly basis, but no less than one time a year; or b) A customer meter reading returned to the City Water Department at the request of said Superintendent of Water Works by the customer; or c) An estimated reading based on customer's usage during the quarter being estimated from the last *= yeart of the customer's usage. In the event any specific customer has less than a twe year history of water usage with the United City of the Village of Yorkville, said estimate shall be based on the most recently ascertainable data on individual usage available to the Superintendent of Public Works. In no event shall estimated water billings be made for more than three calendar quarters in any one year. The Superintendent of Public Works, or his designated employees in the City Water Department, shall be allowed access to the residence of all City water users for the purposes of checking the accuracy of the water meter located in said home, when the home is equipped with a remote water meter indicator on the outside of the residence at all reasonable times.
