AN ORDINANCE ATTENDING THE WATERWORK OF THE UNITED CITY
OF THE VILLAGE OF YORKVILLE, ILLINOIS WATER ORDINANCE
DATED OCTOBER 24, 1974
BE IT ORDAINED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE UNITED CITY OF THE VILLAGE
OF YORKVILLE, KENDALL COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
On motion duly made, seconded and approved that the following
Amendments shall become effective immediately upon passage of this
Ordinance of this Ordinance of the above-specified Water Ordinance of
the United City of the Village of Yorkville and shall pertain to said
original Ordinance and all subsequent existing Amendments of the original
Ordinance which have been approved by the City Council prior to this
Amendment.
SECTION I:
From this day hence, Section I of said original Waterworks Ordinance
of the City of Yorkville shall be amended to provide that the Superintendent
or Director of Public Works shall assume all responsibility and control
for the enforcement of the waterwork subordinance, and the position of
Superintendent of Waterworks is hereby abolished.
SECTION II:
The original Ordinance is hereby amended in Section XV Number 4 to
provide that all future water mains shall be constructed of ductile iron.
Ductile iron valves and appurtenances shall be used whenever possible;
however, the Director of Public Works may, at his discretion, allow the
use of cast iron valves and other cast iron appurtenances to the actual
water pipe upon his written consent to the installer.

SECTION III:
Section XIX of said Ordinance shall be amended to provide in the
last paragraph on Page 11, that in the event that there is doubt as to
the accuracy of a meter, the Superintendent of Public Works may test said
meter and grant said remedies as are specified in the Ordinance
SECTION IV:
That Section XXIV of the original Ordinance shall be amended to
provide that any violation of the Waterworks Ordinance shall constitute
a petty offense, and any reference to a misdemeanor shall be deleted.
