Ordinance 1974-66 AN ORDINANCE REGULATING PARKING
BY ESTABLISHING NO PARKING ZONES
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the United City of the
Village of Yorkville, County of Kendall and State of Illinois :
SECTION 1. It shall be unlawful to park any vehicle
on the South side of Van Emmon Street for a distance of eighty
($0) feet westerly from the intersection of Van Emmon Street and
Heustis Street, within the corporate limits of the United City
of the Village of Yorkville, Kendall County, Illinois .
SECTION 2 . There shall be erected on the South side of
Van Emmon Street westerly of the intersection thereof with Heustis
Street and within said distance of eighty ($0) feet official no
parking signs .
SECTION 3 . It shall be unlawful for any driver o- any
vehicle to disobey the instructions of any no parking sign placed
in view by authority of the City Council and in accordance with
the State of Illinois . All no parking signs established by the
City Council shall conform to the State standard for traffic sign,
if applicable .
SECTION 4. The provisions of the Ordinance regulating the
parking of vehicles shall not apply to emergency vehicles while
the driver thereof is engaged in the performance of emergency
duties , nor shall such provision apply to persons actually engaged
in repairing or otherwise improving the streets under the authority
of the City Council or the State of Illinois , nor shall the pro-
visions of this Ordinance apply to the intermittent standing of
any vehicle in said prohibited area when necessary to avoid con-
flict with other traffic or in compliance with the directions
of a police officer or traffic control device .
SECTION 5 . Any person, firm or corporation, violating or
failing to comply wits the provisions of this Ordinance shall be
fined and shall pay,, upon entering a plea of guilty, or upon
being found guilty of a violation of this Ordinance, a penalty
in the amount of $5 .00.
SECTION 6. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and after its passage, approval and publication as
provided by law.
