Ordinance 1972-20 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE PURCHASE OF
REAL PROPERTY TO BE USED FOR LIBRARY PURPOSES WITHIN
THE UNITED CITY OF THE VILLAGE OF YORKVILLE.
WHEREAS, the corporate authorities have considered the advisability of purchasing certain
real property for the use of the library of the United City of the Village of Yorkville; and
WHEREAS, the corporate authorities have determined that it is in the best interest of the
United City of the Village of Yorkville that additional space be purchased and maintained for
library purposes; and
WHEREAS, the corporate authorities, after investigation, have determined that the public
interest will be sub-served by such purchase and maintenance;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE UNITED CITY OF
THE VILLAGE OF YORKVILLE, KENDALL COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: That the United City for the Village of Yorkville purchase, for the sum of
Thirty-Two Thousand ($32,000.00) Dollars, the following described property, to-wit:
That part of Lot 1 in Block 5 of Black's Addition to the Village of Yorkville, described as
follows: Beginning at the point of intersection of the West line of said Lot 1 with the
South bank of the Fox River; thence Southerly along the West line of said Lot to a point
102 feet North of the South line of said Lot 1; thence East parallel with the South line of
said Lot, 100 feet; thence North parallel with the West line of said Lot to the South bank
of the Fox River; thence Westerly along said river bank to the point of beginning, in the
Village of Yorkville, Kendall County, Illinois.
Section 2: That the terms of such purchase shall be as follows: That the United City of the
Village of Yorkville shall enter into an installment purchase contract with Leo Anderson, the owner
of said property. That said contract shall be for a period not to exceed 20 years, with no more than
Fifteen Thousand ($15,000.00) Dollars placed as down payment under said contract, and not to
exceed seven per cent (7%) per annum interest on the remaining balance. Payments, under the
terms of said contract, are to be in annual installments.
Section 3: That this ordinance shall be published at least twice within 30 days after its passage
and approval in one or more of the newspapers published in the municipality as by statute made
and provided.
Section 4: That this ordinance has passed the City Council by an affirmative vote of two-thirds
of the elected corporate authorities now holding office.

Section 5: That this ordinance shall repeal all other ordinances or resolutions of the United
City of the Village of Yorkville, heretofore passed and adopted that conflict herewith insofar as
they conflict.
Section b: That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its due passage
and publication as required by Illinois Revised Statutes, 24 Sec. 11-76.1-3.

"AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORY AND LAND TO THE UNITED CITY

City Council of the United City of the Village of Yorkville on the
13th day of July, 1972 and approved by the Mayor of the United City
of the Village of Yorkville on the 13th day of July, 1972 , the original
of which remains in my custody and control .
