AN ORDINANCE OF THE UNITED CITY
OF THE VILLAGE OF YORKVILLE,
AMENDING ARTICLE VI, SECTION 1,
SUBSECTION (a) OF THE BUILDING
CODE ORDINANCE OF THE UNITED
CITY OF THE VILLAGE OF YORKVILLE
WHEREAS, the corporate authorities have considered the amendment of Article Vi,
Section 1, Subsection (a) of the Building Code Ordinance of the United City of the
Village of Yorkville, which states as follows:
"(A) Construction, Materials and Methods. These requirements specify
minimum acceptable construction, materials and methods."
WHEREAS, the City Council has investigated and inquired into the advisability
of amending such Ordinance, and whether or not the public interest will be subserved
by such amendment, and
WHEREAS, the City Council, after investigation, has determined that the public
interest will be served by such amendment, and
WHEREAS, the passage of this Ordinance amending the foregoing provisions of the
3uilding Code Ordinance of the United City of the Village of Yorkville, is a matter of
urgency and should take effect immediately upon passage, and the corporate authorities,
by a vote of two-thirds (2/3) of all the members then holding office, so directed,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE UNITED CITY OF THE
VILLAGE OF YORKVILLE, KENDALL COUNTY, ILLINOIS AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That Article VI-Section 1, Subsection (a) of the Building Code Ordinance
of the United City of the Village of Yorkville, shall read as follows:
"(A) - Construction, Materials and Methods. These requirements specify
minimum acceptable construction, materials and methods; alternative materials
and methods not specified herein may be approved for use by the Building Officer
upon submission of evidence satisfactory to him that their performance in use
will be at least equivalent to that of the materials and methods specified herein.
It is required that such evidence include adequate reports and test data from a
disinterested and qualified testing laboratory, or proven long-term service records,
or analysis or performance made in accordance with well established principles of
mechanics, or professional disinterested sources. Provided further, that the
following materials and methods will not be substituted for, in any case;
(1) One-half inch outside sheeting and roof deck shall be used.
(2) That five-eights (5/8) inch shall be the minimum floor deck.
(3) That each roof shall have a 3/12 pitch withaaaler coating or shingles.
(4) That each roof shall haveat least a 15 pound double lap felt covering.
(5) That the floor decking must have a solid face.
