Ordinance 1971-06 AN ORDINANCE .REGULATING THE USE OF PARKS AND FOREST PRESERVES WITHIN THE UNITED CITY OF THE VILLAGE OF YORKVILLE, ILLINOIS. WHEREAS, the City Council of the United City of the Village of Yorkville deem it necessary and to the best interest of the public that certain rules and regulations be adopted governing the use of parks and forest preserves within the City, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the United City of the Village of Yorkville that the following rules and regulations shall govern the use by the public of the parks and forest preserves within the United City of the Village of Yorkville: Section 1: That the forest preserves and parks within the United City of the Village of Yorkville be open seven days a week from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., provided that the City Council may grant permits for an extension of hours upon written request for special uses. Section 2: That there shall be no littering or polluting of waters or defacing or damaging any forest or park property. Section 3: Fires shall be permitted only in grills or fireplaces or at designated locations. Section 4: Dogs must be kept upon a leash at all times and no dogs will be permitted to run at large. Section 5: Swimming and ice skating shall be only in designated areas and not allowed in any of the deep ponds. Section 6: Boating shall be permitted providing that all occupants in boats have on their person an authorized life preserver and provided further that no motors may be used. Section 7: No person shall transport, carry, possess or have any alcoholic beverages in, upon or about his person nor in, upon or about any motor vehicle whether or not said alcoholic beverage is in the original package or whether or not the seal is unbroken. Section 8: Camping, shelter use and special events shall be by permit only, which permits must be obtained in advance from the Mayor and/or City Clerk. Section 9: All horseback riding shall be done upon designated trails. y a w -2- BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that any violation of the above and foregoing provisions of this Ordinance by any person, firm or corporation shall subject that person, firm or corporation to a fine of not less than Ten ($10.00) Dollars nor more than Two Hundred ($200.00) Dollars upon conviction thereof. BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and publication as required by law. PASSED this 13th day of May, A.D., 1971.
