Ordinance 1967-28 AN ORDINANCE PERTAINING TO PARALLEL PARKING IN THE UNITED et CITY OF THE VILLAGE OF YORKVILLE, KENDALL COUNTY, ILLINOIS BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the United City of the Village of Yorkville, Kendall County, Illinois: Section 1 - That it has been determined by the City Council that a hazardous traffic condition exists on Hydraulic Street between Mill Street and Morgan Street in the said City, and in order to protect the public, and to provide for the safety and welfare of pedestrians and motor vehicles operators along and upon said street, that portion of said street between Bridge Street and Main Street should be designated for parallel parking only. Section 2 - That, Hydraulic Street between Bridge Street and Main Street shall be designated for parallel parking only in those areas of said street so marked, adjacent to the travelled portion of said street, and all vehicles parking adjacent to the West bound land of Hydraulic Street, shall park parallel with the front of said auto facing in a Westerly direction, and one parking space adjacent to the Illinois Bell Telephone .lding on Hydraulic Street shall hereafter be designated as "no parking" and for loading zone use of Illinois Bell Telephone Company only. Section 3 - That, it shall be unlawful to park any vehicle upon Hydraulic Street in the City of Yorkville between Bridge Street and Main Street, other than parallel to the travelled portion of Hydraulic Street in areas so designated and marked for parallel parking; and no vehicle shall be parked upon the aforesaid street for more than two (2) consecutive hours, between the hours of 6:00 A. M. and 8:00 P. M. daily, including Sundays and holidays. Section 4 - That it shall be unlawful to park any vehicle on the Southerly side of Hydraulic Street between Mill Street and Morgan Street, and it shall further be unlawful to park any vehicle on that portion ofthe Northerly side of Hydraulic Street contiguous to the parking lot serving the Wunsch building. Section 5 - That the provisions of this Ordinance shall become effective at 1:00 M., July 1, 1967, at which time all ordinances in conZict herewith are expressly repealed. However, this Ordinance shall not affect or modify any other ordinances of the United City of the Village of Yorkville, Illinois, except as the same directly conflict herewith. -2- Section 6 - Any person, firm or corporation violating any provision of this Ordinance shall be fined not less than One Dollar ($1.00), nor more than One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) for each offense.
