Ordinance 1962-09 AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE OFFICE OF POLICE MAGISTRATE IN THE UNITED CITY OF THE ITILLAGE OF YORKVILLE, KENDALL COUNTY, ILLINOIS BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the United City of the Village of Yorkville, Kendall County, Illino-s : Section 1: That the office of Police Magistrate is hereby created and established in and for the United City of the Village of Yorkville, Kendall County, Illinois. Section_ 2: That one Police Magistrate shall be elected for said City at a general municipal election held in said City. The rolice ragistrate so elected to hold office for four years and until his successor is elected and qualified. Section 3 : The elected Police T,,agistrate shall be commissioned to give bond and qualify and have the same juris- diction as Justices of the eeace. He shall maintain dockets and said dockets shall be open to inspection by the public during all business hours of the day. Section The Corporate authorities shall by resolution fix an annual salary to be paid such Police Magistrate and all fees, costs and emoluments of any kind collected by the Police Magistrate in civil and criminal cases and for all other kinds of services shall be paid over to the municipal treasurer on or before the tenth day of the month immediately following the month in which the collection was made. Section 5 : The Corporate authorities shall establish and maintain an office an6 courtroom for said Police Magistrate and shall pay all necessary expenses in connection therewith and shall by resolution establish hours for is holding court. .. Section 6: Any Ordinance in conflict herewith is ll hereby repealed._­_ Section 7 : This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its nassap_'e and publication as required by law.
