Ordinance 1960-20 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE VI,
SECTION 15-A OF THE BUILDING CODE
ORDINANCE AS PASSED AND APPROVED
BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON THE 5th
DAY OF NOVEMBER, A.D. 1956.
Be It Ordained by the City Council of the United City of
the Village of Yorkville, Kendall County, Illinois :
Section 1. That Article VI, Section 15-A of the Building
Code Ordinance of the United City of the Village of Yorkville,
Kendall County, Illinois, is hereby amended by deleting former
Section 15-A and inserting therein the following:
Section 15 - GARAGES.
A - Attached and Built-in Garages. ( 1) Construction
same as required for the dwelling. (2) Installation of house
heating unit or other fuel-burning appliance may be installed
on the floor of a residential garage provided a door of the
garage opens to an adjacent ground or driveway level that is
at or below the level of the garage floor. Where this con-
dition does not exist, appliances shall be installed not less
than 18 inches above the floor.
Gas appliances shall be located, or reasonably pro-
tected, so that they are not subject to physical damage by
a moving vehicle.
Section 2. This ordinance shall repeal only that part or
portion of any other ordinances of the United City of the Village
of Yorkville heretofore passed and adopted that conflict therewith
and in all other respects the Building Code Ordinance of the United
City of the Village of Yorkville, Kendall County, Illinois, as pass-
ed and approved on the 5th day of November, 1956, is hereby ratified
and confirmed.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its due passage, approval and publication according
to law.
