The first meeting of the President and Board of Trustees of
the Village of Yorkville with the newly elected menbers was !
called to order by President Devereaux at 9:45 p•=• i!
Finding present President Devereaux Trustees Ament,Dhuae,

Friedbergii Hage,Scnumacher,Wollenweber and Clerk Armbruster.
The Board was mow declared organized and ready for business. j
Trustee Schumacher nonimates J.R.Yarshall for Village �I
Treasuer for the ensuing year the salary to be75•00 per year.

On motion by Friedberg seconded by Hage the moonimations
for Village Treasuer be closed .Carried and so ordered.
A vote was then taken and J.R.Marshall was appointed

The following applications were then read for night i

watchman. L.M.Lewis,Herman Behrens and Elmer Richards.
On motion by Hage seconded Dhuse a ballot be taken on
nightwatchman,which resulted as follows. Lewis one,Behrens four
and Richards one.Herman Behrens having received the largest
number of votes cast was declared nightwatchman. A vote was
then taken to determine the monthly pay for nightwatchman
which resulted at $ 15.00 per month.Carried and so ordered.
The following applications were then read for Street
Commissioner and Superentendant of Water works.M.D.Behrens
and N.S.Beecher.No salary stated. Perry Hubbell at $75.00
per month.
A vote was then taken to determine the salary to be paid
Street Commissioner and Supt. of Water works,which resulted as
follows, Street Commissioner 155.00 per month. Supt. of Water
works $40.04 per month. Roll Call Ayes Six Nays None. Carried
and so Ordered.
On motion by Friedberg seconded by Schumacher that M.D.Behr-

ens and N.S.Beecher be retained as Street Commissioner and
SuPt. of Water Works*Carried and so ordered.
On motion by Friedberg seconded by Schumacher that L.M.Lewis
work until May 16th. Roll Call Ayes Six Nays None.
On motion by Schumacher seconded by Friedberg the Clerk be
