City Council Minutes 1934 05-07-34 (2) Yorkville Ill day 7th 1934 The first metting of the President and Board of Trustees ` o? the Village of Yorkville with the newly elected members was held in the council chambers in said. village on the above date and called to order by President Devereaux at 8: 15 PM. Finding present, President Devereaux, Trustees , Schumacher, i! Loomis , Sc,nulter, Hage , Wollenneber, Muse , and 81erk Armbruster. The Board was now declared organized and ready for business . It shall be unlawful to sell or after for sale nt, retail any a.lcoh.c,!.ic liquor in the Village be- tween the hours of 12 O'clock at night and 6 o'clock in the morning of any Week day, and on Sundays alcoholic Liquor may be sold only between the hours of- Qhv and � /0 ?11V �b SECTION 2. The invalidity of this amendment cha11 not affect the ordinance If which this is an amendment. SECTION 3. On motion by Schumacher seconded by Hage tZat John Marshall } be nozinated for Village Treasuer. � j On motion by Dhuse seconded. by Loomis the nominations for Village Treasued be closed. There being no other nominations John Marshall is am ointed Village Treasuer for the ensuing year. Roll call ayes 6nayes9. A application from Herman Behrensfor the position of night watchman the wages to be $?0.00 pe-n month was then read. There being no other applications for night watchman upon motion by Schulter seconded by Wollenweber that Herman Behrens be hired ae nl,ht watchman. There being no further applications upon motion by Dhuse IF p seconded by Haae that Martin Behrens be hired as street i i commissioner. Roll call ayes 6 nayes 0 carried and so ordered. I i' Applications for the position of Superintendent of :Rater works were then read from the following applicants. N.S .Beecher and Wm.Bretthauer i On motion by Schulter seconded by Loomis a vote be taken on the above anpli,v'ttions which resulted as follows . N.S.Beecher 114 votes,19m.Bretthauer 2 votes. N.S.Beecher navin3 received the largest number of votes cast is declared Supt .of Water ;'Yorks. Roll call ayes 6 naves 0 ; carried and so ordered. On motion by Schumacher seconded by Loomis that Roger Clark I' ' be retained as Villae Attorney. Roll call ayes 6 nayes 0 o carried and so ordered. On motion by Schulter seconded by Loomis that Mon.and Tues. j May 14th and 15th be clean up days in the Village . Carried and �I so ordered.
