Gentlemen: You are hereby authorized to change the buffing hours on our Ornamental li6ht system so that they will be turned off at Midnight instead of 1:00 A.M. Gentlemen: You are hereby authorized to change the burning hours on the overhead street lighting from "Dusk to 1;00 A.M." to "Dusk to Dann". Gentlemen: At our regular tillage Board meeting on October 7, 1935, a motion was made and duly ,gassed that you be request- ed to install additional two 60 c.p. brackets lights to burn from "Dusk to Dawn". (1)Van Emmon St. on present pole near alley E. of Bridge St. (2) Second pole north of above which is in the rear of bus- iness houses east of Bridge St. Yours truly, lage GITork i RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THAT PROPER STEPS BE TAKEN TO ENJOIN THE APPLICATION OF THE 1935 PUBLIC UTILITY TAX ACT TO REVENUE OF THIS MUNICIPALITY DERIVED FROM THE FURNISH- ING OF WATER AND/OR ELECTRIC SERVICE. Whereas, This municipality has been asked by the Illinois State Department of Finance to pay the 37o Public Utility Tax on revenue derived from furnishing water and/ or electric service to our citizens, and Whereas, This municipality is advised that many Illinois municipalities wish to test out the validity of the provisions of this Act as they apply to municipalities, and Whereas, This municipality has reason to believe that the 1935 Public Utility Tax Act is invalid as applied to municipalities, Now, Therefore, Be. It Resolved by the Mayor and Council of this municipality that it join with other municipalities in taking the necessary legal action to enjoin and restrain the attempted enforcement of said Public Utility Tax Act as to revenue derived from furnishing water and/or electric service by this municipality, and Be It Further Resolved that the Mayor (or Village President) is hereby authorized and directed to do all things proper and necessary to institute and prosecute such legal proceedings, including any appeal therefrom, and Be It Further Resolved that the Mayor (Village President) and Clerk of this munici- pality is hereby authorized and directed to draw and send a check for$ together with a copy of this resolution, to the Illinois Municipal League, 500 East Capitol Avenue, Springfield, Illinois, to cover our proportionate share of the expenses of such legal pro- ceedings.
