City Council Minutes 1937 08-09-37 (Special CC) August 9.1937 ---- A--special -meeting-of--the President and Board of Trustees of ;;the Village of Yorkville was held August 9,1937 at the hour of ,,7:30 o' clock P.M. pursuant to the following aall To the Members of the Village Board A special meeting of the Village Board will be held on , August 9,1937 at 7;30 P.I.I. at the Village Hall for the purpose ;, of passing the annual tax levy ordinance and to consider the ,purchase chase of wheels and tires for the fire truck. The Clerk read the call and finding notice had been served ' of said meeting on the Trustees at the direction of the President the following Trustees answered present on roll call; Present; Barkley,Schulter,Schunacher ii Absent Armbruster,Munson,Loomis The annual tax levy ordinance was then intrDduced and read in full whereupon Trustee Barkley moved that the ordinance be adopted.Upon second to said motion by Trustee Schumacher the following vote was taken. Roll Call. Ayes; Devereaux,Barkley,Schulter,and Schumacher Nays; None. The president thereupon declared the ordinance passed and , adopted the same being in the words and figures as follows: See following page) The matter of wheels and tires for the fire truck was then taken up. Trustee Schumacher reported that the tires on the fire truck ' were very old and that since tires of a size required for the lipresent -heels were no longer available it would be necessary to l� purchase new wheels as well as new tires. He further stated that the costof new wheels and tires would' be approximately $290.00 plus an estimated cost of installation ,,which would probably run around $15.00. The wheels to be of such a size as to require 3211 x 61, tires . On motion by Trustee Schulter seconded by Trustee Barkley that new wheels and tires be purchased for the fire truck as an emergency measure. Roll Call. Ayes Four, Nays None. Ij ii i' Whereas the Village Board of the Village of Yorkville has here-11 tofore passdd its appropriation ordinance for the fiscal year !j beginning May 1st , A.P. 1937, wherein and whereby the following appropriations among others were made as follows: For Interest on and for maturing right of way bonds $590.00 For waterworks bonds and interest 752.00 For .maint enance and operation of waterworks including I' necessary repairs and replacements (but not in- cluding pumping) including salary of Sup t. 1400.00 For pumping for waterworks 850.00 !; For street lighting 1000.00 For salaries of all officers of Village (not including employees) 365.00 For improving and maintenance of streets and alleys (not including any improvements under gas tax) including salary of Sup 't. 2000.00 For improvements of streets from gas tax funds when, as and if allowed and received during fiscal year. 1700.00 For wages of Village ALarshall and Watchman service 1200.00 For cement walks and curbs. 200.00 For fire equipment and supplies in fire department 200.00 For compensation insurance for all employees of Village 200.00 For garbage disposal under ordinance providing for levy of garbage tax. 387.00 For printing and election supplies,61 100.00 And whereas the President and Board of Trustees of the Villager! of Yorkville has ascertained the total amount of app -opri.ations . for all corporate purposes legally made and to be collected from the tax levy of the present fiscal year, Therefore be it ordained by the President and Board of Trusteeb of the Village of Yorkville, in the County of Kendall and State of Illinois: !' $action 1. That there be and there hereby is levied upon all property , real and personal , subject to taxation with'r*the corporate limits of the Village of Yorkville, in the County of Kendall and ;! State of Illinois, for the fiscal year commencing May l9s A.L. j 1937 , as the same is assessed and equalized for State and County '11 purposes for the current year the following sums, to-wit : 4 For interest , on and, maturing right of way bonds $590.00 For Street lighting 1000.00 !' For salaries of all officers of Village(not including employees) 365.00 For improving and maintenance of streets and alleys (not including any improvements under motor fuel tax and including salary of Supt of streets) 2000.00 For fire equipment and Supplies in fire department 200.00 C; For compensation insurance for all Village employees 200.00 For wages of Village karshall and watchman serivice $800.001 For printing and election supplies 100.0011 For garbage disposal under ordinance providing; for levy I' of garbage tax 387.0011 For cement walks and curbs 150.0011! Section 2. That of said sums the a'-unt levied for the princip4l and interest of right—of—way bonds are levied in excess of the general tax rate and likewise for garbage disposal , the said part�- icular items being so levied in excess because and by reason of compliance with the laws of the State of Illinois with reference to the levying in excess of the general rate and by reason of. !! referendum heretofore had on Laid propositions. Section 3. That the Village Clerk of the Village of Yorkvillel be and he is hereby directed and ordered to file a certified copy of this ordinance in the office of the County Clerk of said County of Kendall as required by law; and the County Clerk is hereby instructed to extend the above taxes pursuant to law.
