City Council Minutes 1938 01-03-38 January 3,1938 The regular monthly meeting of the President and Board I of Trustees of the Village of Yorkville held in the Village Hall on January 3,1938 and called to order by President Devereaux at 7:45 P.M. . Finding present on roll call wete President Devereaux Trustees T,lunson,Schumacher,Loomis,Armbruster, Barkley and Clerk Ament. Absent Trustee Schulter. 1-Tinutes of the regular meeting held December 6,1937 were read and so ordered approved. Bill were then read as follows and on motion by Trustee Barkley seconded by Trustee 1;1unson the bills be referred to $he Finance Committee and be paid when money was available and if the said bill were found to be correct. Road sighs 32.82 Roll call; Ayes Munson, Schumacher,Loomis,Armbruster,Barkley Mays None A notice of hearing and a copy of the application of the Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad to the Illinois Commerce Commission for the discontinuance of Train # 133 and # 134 between Aurora &nd Streator was read and the Village Board directed Village Attorney Clark to attend the hearing on the matter in Chicago,January 25,1938 at 10;00 A.11 to represent the Village. A notice of hearing and a copy of the application of the Fox & Illinois Union Railroad to the Illinois Commerce Commission was read and said notice and copy of application was ordered placed on file. The report of the Chief of Police was then read there being 11 fines for sneeding,3 for drunkeness. Total fines $104.80 The report covered the period from December 1 to December 31,1937 ; The report was unanimously approved. TUe matter of licensing of Dool tables in the Yorkville Recreational Parlor was brought up and it was decided that since a fee was charged for playing pool there the tables should be licensed. The fee to be 35.00 per year proratedfrom January 1,1939 to May 1,1938 or $1.66 per table for the period. Motion by Trustee Armbruster that the office of Village Collector be abolished was lost for want of a second. January 3,1938 On motion by Trustee Barkley seconded by Trustee Schumache" the clerk be directed to give the Village Collector written notice to make a report in writing to the Tillage Board of the condition of the Special Assessment Account with a statement of all moneys collected and the amounts of all payments to the Village Treasurer pursuant to Section 114 of the City and Village Act .
