City Council Minutes 1938 02-07-38 February 7,1939
The regular monthly meeting of the President and Truste s
of the Village of Yorkville held in the Village Hall on Februaryl7,
1938 and called to order by President Devereaux at 9:00 P.1:1.
Finding present on Roll Call vrere President Devereaux,
Trustees 11unson, Loomis, Armbruster, Barkley, Schumacher and
Clerk Ament . Absent Trustee Schulter.
?,1inutes of the regular meeting held January 3, 1938
were read and so ordered approved.
Village Attorney Clark having attended the hearing in
the matter of the Chicago Burlinp'ton & Quincy Railroad
discontinuing trains #133 and ¢#134 reported that the Chicago
Burlington & quincy Railroad contended that the passenger business
on this line was not paying but that they made a profit on freight
business . The Board approved the action taken by Attorney Clark
in resistinc, the application to discontinue and directed that he
appear at the next hearing and continue to opTose the discontin-
-ua.nce of the said trains #133 and ## 134.
The report of the Village Collector of the state of
the Special Assessment Fund was then read.
A letter of resignation from ir. E. I. Gutel ,Village
Collector was read.
On motion by Trustee Loomis seconded by Trustee
Schumacher the resignation of Mr. E. I . Gutel as Village Collector
be accepted. Carried and so ordered.
The following resolution was then read.
Be it and i� is hereby resolved that the special office
of Irillage Collector of Special Assessments in the grillage of
Yorkville be and the same is hereby abolished.
Be it and it Is hereby further resolved that all duties
of the Village Collector of Special Assessments be taken over
and performed by the person occupying the position of Village
Clerk of the Village of Yorkville, Kendall County, Illinois .

A letter from the Sanitary Water Board was read and the
Clerk ras directed to answer this letter in an appropriate
manner.
Reports of the Clerk and Treasurer on the General Fund,
the �;da.ter end, the ,:rotor " gel T��.x Fund , and the Police Fund
were read and una.nirnousi lv annroved.
Bill were teen read as follows and on motion by Trusteed
Armbruster seconded by Trustee Munson the bills be referred to
the Finance Committee and be raid if found correct and when

On motion by Trustee Armbruster seconded by Trustee
Schumacher the General Fund be reimbursed from the Water Fund
In the amount of 81221 .50. The Water Fund will still owe the
General Fund the amount of 9300.00 after the above transfer has
been made. Carried and so ordered.
On motion by Trustee Schumacher seconded by Trustee
Armbruster that 9900.00 plus interest be applied ororata to the

A report of the Chief of Police for the period Jan.1,1938 .
to Ja.n.31,1938 was read_ there being a total of ig arrests,
13 of which drew fines 3 cases continued and 2 discharged .
The report was unanimously: approved.
On motion the meeting was adjourned.
