City Council Minutes 1940 05-06-40 Yorkville, Illinois May 6, 1940 The regular monthly meeting of the President and Board of iTrustees of the Village of Yorkville, Illinois was held in the :'.;Village Hall of sabd Village on May 6, 1940 and called to order by President Devereaux at 8:00 P.M. Finding present on roll call were President Devereaux, Trustees Schumacher Munson,Barkley,Marshall and Clerk Ament. Absent Trustees Loomis and Schulter. Minutes of the regular meeting held April 1, 1940 and of the special meeting held April 15, 1940 were read and so ordered approved. The regular monthly reports of the Clerk, Chief of Police and Police Magistrate for the month of April 1940 were read and so ordered approved. I j On motion by Trustee Marshall seconded by Trustee Barkley the report of the Collector of Special Assessments be approved i; as read and an order be drawn on the General Fund for t commissions due collector. Roll Call: Ayes; Schumacher,Munso n,Barkley,Marshall Nays; None. Carried and so ordered. On motion by Trustee Marshall seconded by Trustee Schumacher ', the Village Treasurer be authorized to prorate the funds in the Special Assessment fund on the outstanding bonds. Roll Call: Ages; Schumacher,Munson,Barkley,Marshall Nays; None. Carried and so ordered. The Village Treasurer then read his annual report. On motion by Trustee 11unson seconded by Trustee Marshall the report of the Treasurer be referred to the Auditing . Committee and if found to be correct be ordered published in condensed form. Carried and so ordered. On motion by Trustee Schumacher seconded by Trustee Yarshall ,' James Barkley be retained at the same rate (Water$67.50),per month (General$32.50) as Superintendent of Streets and waterworks. Roll Call : Ayes; Schumacher,Munson,Barkley,Marshall Nays; None . Carried and so ordered. President Devereaux appointed H.W.Bretthauer as Village Treasurer at the same salary(General$5.00 a meeting for all meetings attended) (water$50.00per year) and appointed Roger H. Clark as Village Attorney at the same year) On motion by Trustee Marshall seconded by Trustee Barkley the appointment of H.W.Bretthauer as Village Treasurer and Roger H. Clark as Village Attorney be confirmed. Roll Call: Ayes; Schumacher,Munson,Barkley, .Marshall. Nays; None. Carried and so ordered On motion by Trustee Munson seconded by Trustee Marshall that Franklin Martyn be rehired as Chief of Police at a $10.00 a month reduction in wages. (Wages$90.00 per month. Nays;None .Carried and so ordered. j f{ j li Yorkville, Illinois May 6, 1940 s Fire Chief Bieritz presented the following list of names of ' persons wishing to become members of the Yorkville Fire Depart- ment and asked that they be appointed to the same. Riemenschneider John Behrens Robert Riemenschneider Jacob Zeiter M.A. Gardner Ernset Zeiter C.M.Schmidt Robert Jeter Richard Arundale James Price L.M. Larson On motion by Trustee la.rshall seconded by TrusteeBarkley that the Board of Trustees approves the above list of persons and appoints the said persons to be members of the Yorkville Fire Department effective at once. Carried and so ordered. The Clerk's Annual Report of estimates for the current fiscal year was then read and on motion by Trustee Barkley seconded by Trustee Marshall the Clerk's Annual Report of Estimates be approved and be placed on file . Presi ent Yorkville, Illinois �� �riay�, 1940 TO THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILIAGEJ OF YORKVILLE. i The following is my report of estimates as nearly as may be of moneys necessary to defray the expenses of the corporation during the current fiscal year: For interest on right of way bond $ 22.50 For payment of maturing right of way bond 500.00 For street lighting and pumping 1,850.00 For salaries and labor 3,450.00 For improvement of the streets 3, 300.00 Yo cement sidewalks and curbs 300.00 For fire equipment & supplies 325.00 For garbage 387.00 The aggregate income of the Village of Yorkville for the preceeding year from all sources including water revenue was the sum of $ 13,119. 40 General Fund $8,496.70 Pater Fund 3,158.74 Police Fund 311. 37 Motor Fuel Tax Fund 578.75 Sewage Disposal Fund 70.52 Special Assessment Fund 503. 32 The amount of liabilities outstanding, upon which interest is to be paid is $ 6,415.00 "later Certificates $4, 600.00 , Right of way Bonds $500.00 Special Assessment Bonds $315.00 Anticipation Warrant $1,000.00 Certificates payable during the year are Right of stay Bond $500.00 payable October 1,1940, dater Certificates $700.00 payable November 1, 1940 and Special Assessments Bond $315.00 payable September 1, 1939.
