August 5, 1940
The regular monthly meeting of the President and Board of
ITrustees of the Village of Yorkville, Illinois was held in the
Village Hall of said Village on August 5, 1940 and called to orders
by President Devereaux at 8:00 P.hT.
Finding present on roll call were President Devereaux, Trustees
`Schumacher,Loomis,Ba.rkley,t unson,D,Ta.rshe,ll and Clerk Ament
'Absen% Trustee Schulter.
Minutes of the regular meeting held July 1, 1940 and of
the special meeting held July 16, 1940 were prdered approved
as corrected.
The regular monthly reports of the Clerk, Chief of Police
and Police Magistrate were read and so ordered approved.
Bills were then read as follows;

A petetion signed:;by several property owners and residents :eliv� g
,on and owning property on Heustis Street was presented to the "
!;Board by Dr. H.H. Merrill requesting that the name of the street
now known as Heustis Street be changed to Maple Avenue.
The President referred the petetion relative to the changing
Hof the name of Heustis Street to the Street and Alley Committee
for investigation.
The 1940 Tax Levy Ordinance was then read and on motion by
'Trustee Marshall seconded by Trustee Loomis that the 1940 Tax
;Levy Ordinance be passed and adopted as read.

A card of thanks from President and Pars . L.K.Devereaux and
Dorothy and Lloyd. was read.
A letter from Par. Justus Nading was read relative to the
number of taverns in the Village of Yorkville The President
directed that the said letter be tabled.
On motion the meeting was adjourned.
