May 5, 1941
I! A regular meeting(bding the organization meeting) of the
President and and Board of Trustees of the Village of Yorkville,
Illinois was held at the Village Hall in Yorkville on May 5,1941..
The several oaths of the new officers elect and record of
their election having been examined and found to be in due
form, the following roll call was had.

The minutes of the regular and special meetings held in
April having been read were then approved.
The Clerk' s Annual Report of estimates for the current fiscal
year was then read and on motion by Trustee Marshall seconded
by Trustee Munson the Clerk' s Annual report of estimates be
approved and made a matter of record.
Carried and so ordered. (See page following minutes)
President Devereaux thenapnointed the following committees;
Street and Alley Committee. Light Committee.
Barkley and Loomis. Schulter and Munson.
Water Committee. Finance Committee.
Munson and Price Loomis and Marshall.
Health Committee. Police And Fire Committee.
Price and Marshall. Marshall and Schulter.
Building and Zoning Committee. Auditing Committee
Loomis and Munson. Barkley and Price.
The following list of names of persons was presented for
appointment to the Yorkville Fire Department.

On motion by Trustee Marshall seconded by Trustee Munson
the above listed persons be appointed members of the Yorkville
Fire Department. Carried and so ordered.

�i President Devereaux then app&inted Roger H. Clark 16'�` '111age
14ttorney at a salary of $25.00 per year and also appointed
H.W. Bretthauer as Village Treasurer at the following salary;
; 850.00 per year payable from the water fund and $5.00 per meeting;
attended at which a report is furnished and filedt the fore-
mentioned 85.00 being payable out of the General Fund.
On motion by Trustee Marshall seconded by Trustee Price the
appointment of Roger H. Clark as Village Attorney and the
Appointment of H.W. Bretthauer as Village Treasurer be confirmed
by the Village Board.

The matter of the proportion of the wages of the Superintendent
of thh Streets and Waterworks to be paid from the Water Fund
and the proportion to be paid from the General Fund was then
discussed
On Motion by Trustee Marshall seconded by Trustee Munson the
wages of the Superintendent of Streets and Waterworks be at the
following rate; 50% from the General Fund and 50% from the
Water Fund. Carried and so ordered.
On motion by Trustee Loomis seconded by Trustee Marshall the
matter of thel3krAM of the Superintendent of Streets and Water-
works and the matter of the wages of the Superintendent of
Streets and Waterworks be referred to the Street and Alley
Committee and the Water Committee and be brought up at the
next meeting and the present Superintendent of Streets and Water-
works continue for thirty days. Carried and so ordered.
On motion by TrAstee Munson seconded by Trustee Marshall the
matter of hiring a Chief of Police and the matter of the wages
of the Chief of Police be referred to the Police and Fire
Committee and be brought up at the next meeting and the present
Chief of Police continue for thirty days.
Carried and so ordered.
On motion By Trustee Marshall seconded by Trustee Munson the
Street and Alley Committee be empowered to secure prices on
road oil and advertise for bids on same, said bids to be received',
by May 19, 1941.

President Devereaux directed that the matter of the building
of a side walk on the east side of State Route 47 be referred
:to the Street and Alley Committe for report at the next meeting.

!� The matter of the changing of the hours for taverns was then
discussed , Ben Graham and Frank Pennutto being present and
took part in the discussion. i
An ordinance amending the Liquor Ordinance of the Village of
Yorkville in regard to the hours of taverns during the period
of daylight saving time was read and on motion by Trustee
Marshall seconded by Trustee Loomis the Ordinance amending the
Liquor Ordinance of the Village of Yorkville be passed and
adopted as read.and be ordered published.
Roll Call: Ayes;Loomis, Munson, Marshall, Price.(See Ordinance
Nays; None. Carried and so ordered. Record )
Richard Hayden requested aid from The Village Board in ,reggrid
to fixing up the ball diamond at Yorkville Memorial Park and
the Board agreed to have the weeds and glass cut and to have
the diamond scraped.
On motion the meeting was adjourned to May 19, 19+1 .

TO THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF YORKVILLE.
The following is my report of estimates as nearly as may be
of moneys necessary to defray the expenses of the corporation
during the current fiscal year:
For street lighting and pumping 1,850.00
For salaries and labor 3,450.00
For improvement of the streets 3,000.00
For cement sidewalks and curbs 500.00
For fire equipment and supplies 325.00
For garbage 387.00
The aggregate income of the Village of Yorkville for the
proceeding year from all sources including water revenue was
the sum of $ 11,919.99
General Fund 6, 573.31
Water Fund 3, 13.94
Police Fund 492.37
Motor Fuel Tax Fund 11.25
Sewage Disposal Fund 451.63
Special Assessment Fund $ 477.49
The amount of liabilities outstanding, upon which interest is
to be paid is $ 3900.00.
Water certificates- # 3,900.00
Certificates payable during the year are Water Certificates
$700.00 payable November 1, 1941
