The regular monthly meeting of the President and Board of
Trustees of the Village of Yorkville, Illinois was held in the
Village Hall of said Village on July 7, 1941 and called to
order by President Devereaux at 8:00 P.M.
Finding present on roll call were President Devereaux,
Trustees Loomis,',Iun,-,on,Schulter,Barkley,?,Iarsh&llPrice and
Clerk Ament. Absent None. of June 2, 1941
Minutes of the Regular meeting were read and so ordered approved..
The regular monthly reports of the Clerk, Treasurer, Chief of
Police and 19olice Magistrate were read and so ordered approved.

The Clerk read a request for a building permit from 11r.lv'llarvin
Smith, for the construction of a house.
On motion by Trustee Schulter seconded by Trustee Barkley
that Marvin E. Smith be granted a building permit for the
construction of a house , said permit to be subject to the
regulations of the Building and Zoning Ordinance of the
Village of Yorkville. Carried and so ordered.
A communication was read from the American Legion in reggrd
to the policing of the 'Public Service Property' .
President Devereaux directed the Clerk to acknowledge the
redeipt of the letter from the American Legion and to reply
that the Village would see that order was Aintained on the
above mentioned property.
Chairman 111unson of the water committe reported in regard to
the proposed water main on east VanEmmon street that he had
obtained priceSon the pipe but had no figure for the ditching.
On motion by Trustee 1.1unson seconded by Trustee Price the
Water Committe be authorized to advertise for bids, under
proper specifications, for the construction of a water main
in Eatt Van Emmon Street.

The annual appropriation ordinance was then read and on
motion by Trustee Barkley seconded by Trustee 11arshall the-_'..

On motion by Trustee 11arshall seconded by Trustee Schulter
that Franklin 11,qrtyn be retained as Chief of Police at the
same wages as labt year. (Wages $90 .00 per month- For use of
car $35-00 per month)

On motion by Trustee Barkley seconded by Trustee Schulter
that James Barkley be retained as Superintendent of Streets
and Waterworks at a $10.00 per month Increase in wages.
(General Fund $55-00 per month- 111ater fund $55.00 per month. )

Trustee Loomis stated that the Gun Club property which

.Jj61ns the Yorkville Memorial Park was for sale and could
be purchased for $200-00.
President Devereaux directed Trustee Loomis and Attorney
Clark to make the necessary arrangements for a referendum
on the purchase of the Gun Club property and report at the
next meeting.
On motion the meeting was adjourned
