The regular monthly meeting of the President and Board of

- Levy ordinance be passed and adopted as read.

Chief of Police Martyn stated that he wished to take his
vacation from August 18 to August 26 . 'there being; no objection
, his request was granted.

Trustee '::unson , Chairman of the Wnter Committe, repot-ted in
reLard to the wa.termain extension in e .st Van Emmon Street that
bids for the material and t,-.e di-;_ping -gad been advertised for
and that the bidsof the lo`x7est bidders had been accented. They �
were as follows; material -560 feet (b 2TZ per foot to A. C. ..'erkel;
Ditching - 56o feet U, 30<,/, per foot inch .3.n;; 'back fill to Ed. l

The follovring resolution was then read;
Whereas, heretofore the ',`Water Committe was authorized to pre-
pare specifications and receive bids for v,!ork,ma.terial and labor
on water main extensions and having made a report thereof and !!
11 accepted the loti=pest bids;
I�'ow, therefore, the a.ctlon of the Water Committe in awards
a contract for the material on water main extensions to A. C . :ierke
j for 560 feet of water ,aide at 27 cents per foot and to Ed Ca.ssem
for digging 560 feet of trench, to include back-fill, at 30 cents
1per foot, be and the same is hereby approved and ratified and the
s payment for said material and labor shall be deemed a contract
oblibation of the Village of Yor'.ville, Kendall County, Illinois .

the resolution regarding the water main extension be passed and
adopted.

read and. on motion by Trustee Schulter seconded by Trustee
, -Tarshall the said ordinance be passed and adopted as read

WHEREAS, during the recent Kendall County Centennial,
''Robert C. Woodard, the Sheriff of Kendall County, using his orn
isdeputies and officers from the City of Plano, Villn-"e of Osv,ego
and the Village of Yorkville, took charge of the policing and
routing of trafiic occasioned by the crowds at sr--id Centennial;
AND MIEREAS, such policing and triffic was so iit,ndled that no
serious accidents or law v .orations oceured, and on all sides
the service has been commended:
A17D WHEREAS, because of the e._tremely effecient Manner in
which said work ix. s done . it is only fitting and proper that
,i -he Villa. e Board of Yorkville, the County seat of Kendr.11 Countyp'
should make some perminant record in aUpreciation thereof;
11TOW, TH EREFORE, Be it and it is hereby resolved that a vote
of thanks be and the same is hereby extended to said Sheriff,
I! the several municipalities in the County furnishing their officer ,
ithe different policeman, deputies and traffic officers;
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED That this resoluti -n be sere,ncd on the
;? records of the Village Board of Yorkville,Kendall County, Illinoio,
rq.nd a copy thereof be sent to said Robert C. 'Voodard, Sheriff of

Attorney Clark stated in regard to the Gun Club nropert,y thadi
. the title was in the name of Jacob Armbruster, Trustee and it wash
-oossible for Mr. Armbruster to give a good title to it . Also
the property consisted of 1 and 1/3 acres .
