The regular monthly meeting of the President and Board of
Trustees of the Village of Yorkville, Illinois was held in the
Village Hall of said Village on October 5, 1942 and was called
to order by President Devereaux at 9:00 P.M.
Finding present on roll call were: President Devereaux,
Trustees 14unson,Loomis,Barkley,Tiarshall and Clerk Ament .
Absent:Trustees Schulter and Price .
Minutes of the regular meeting held August 3%'';1942, the
adjourned "regular meeting held August 10, 1942 and of the
special meeting held September 28, 1942, also minutes in regard
to a regular meeting of September 7, 1942 and of an adjourned
regular meeting of September 8, 1942, these latter two meetings
not being held due to a lack of a quorum, were read and so
ordered approved.
The regular monthly reports of the Clerk, Treasurer, Chief of
Police and Police Magistrate were read and so ordered approved
and placed on file .

on motion by Trustee T.iarshall seconded by Trustee Barkley the
bills be referred to the Finance Committee and be paid if found
to be correct.

Mr. Walter E. Deuchler then opened the bids on the Fox Road
Seal Coat which were as follows:

J.W. Stahl Const. Co. Somonauk,Illinois 683. 20
On Motion by Trustee Barkley seconded by Trustee Marshall that
the bid of J.W. Stahl Const. Co . of Somonauk, Illinois, being
the low bidder, be accepted, subject to the approval of the
State Highway Department .
Roll Call: Ayes:Munson,Loomis,Bnrkley, Marshall
Nays: None. Carried and so ordered.
On motion by Trustee Munson seconded by Trustee Marshall that,
the checks of the unsucessful bidders be returned to them.
Carried and So . Ordered.
Mr. Deuchler repotted in regard to the Rabe matter stating
that he had made an inspecti&n at the Rabe premises and that
he thought that the foundation df the house was too light.
Such a foundation ivo zld not meet F.H.A. standards . He Laid ,-that
he ° was°"ttn&ble 'td r-,tell.whether :or ft6t water -from the water main
caused the' foiandation to settle . He did recommadd replacement
of the water main in Madison Street west of Main Street,
The matter of the workmen' s compensation insurance for the
period Oct. 10, 1942 to Octo 10, 19111 was taken up. The companie'b
represented were the Iowa T1utual Liability Insurance Co. of
Cedar Rapids, Iowa -premium $ 80.00 and the Employers r,utual
Casualty Co . of Des Moines, Iowa premium896.06.

On motion by Trustee Marshall seconded by Trustee Munson
that the workmen' s compensation Insurance policy for the period
Oct. 10 1942 to October 10, 1943 be taken out with the Iowa
Mutual Liability Insurance Co. of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. and that
a check in the amount of $ 80. 00 be drawn Dayable to L. H.
Whinery, agent for the aforesAid insuranee.00mpapy, to cover the '
advance premium on the said policy .

On Motion by Trustee Loomis seconded by Trustee Barkley
that Joseph 0 . Eccles be employed as watchman at $15-00 per
month effective September 15, 1942 and that the Chairman of the
Police Committee procure a raincoat for the said Joseph 0. Eccle8.
