April 6, 1943
The regular monthly meeting of the Village Board of YorI7'ville,
Kendall County, Illinois was held April 6, 1943 in the Village
Hall of said Village .at 9:00 P.11.
Members oresent were : Loomis,T-unson,Barkleyjia-rshall,Schulter.
Absent: None .
'"he President of the Village Board having died, Trustee
F.E. Barkley was by unanimous*vote selected as Mayor pro tempore
for this meeting.
Minutes of the regular meetings of February 1, 190 and
?,arch 1, 1943 were read and so ordered approved.
The regular monthly reports of the Clerk and Treasurer -ere
read and so ordered ao-oroved.

On motion by Trustee Schulter seconded by Trustee Marshall
the bills be referred to the Finance Committee and be paid if
found to be correct and that F.E. Barkley is directed to execikte
all instruments required to be executed by the President of the
Village Board.

A card of thanks from MIrs Ethel Devereaux and Family was read.
The committee on salaries subt tte.d the following written
report!
The undersigned committee on salaries, do hereby make the
following partial report,viz: We recommend that additional
duties be given James Berkley, viz: the duties of assisting in
watching the crossing and that said Barkley receive for the
present month and ensuing months of the municipal year, the sum
of $135.00 per month, for all of his services, to be paid as
follows: 50% of his former salary from the water fund, and the
balance making up the $135.00 per month from the general fund.
All other salaries to remain as heretofore where the
offices have been filled.

On motion by Trustee Loomis seconded by Trustee Marshall
that the report of the committee on salaries be approved and
their recomendations be abo-oted.

The Clerk reported the receipt of Certificate Corporation
Tax Extended from the County Clerk of Kendall County. The
fi57ures were as follows; Assessed valuation 364.00
Total tax rate 81.09. Total taxes 3 4, 235. 33 . (Year 1942)
A communication from Franklin ?,lartyn in regard to the alley
running along the north side, of the property where he resides
was received . The matter was discussed and Chairman Barkley
asked Trustee Loomis to inform Mr. Martyn in regard to the
width of the alley and also inform 11r Ralph Leifheit as to the
ownership of said alley.
Trustee Loomis reported that Mr Ed. Gutel had talked to him
in regard to hooking onto the water main that runs past his\housej
to Gus Merkel's. The matter was referred to Trustee 11unson, (Guteli, s)

Trustee � also reported that Mr. Ed Gut?1 had inquired
about the possibility of repair or replacement of the sidewalk
around the Yorkville National Bank. Tile matter was referred to top
Village Attorney to find out the percentage of cost to the Village
and property owner and the procedure to be followed.
